Sorry, Federer is retired. He's not coming back.

Couldn’t agree more. I won’t be invested in the FO without Nadal and I won’t watch much Rome either. Nothing is more exciting right now than hopefully Nadal’s return.

Who cares? Numbers are everything, Fed is number 3 in slams and masters 1000, negative H2H against both Novak and Nadal, he is not positive against Novak at any slam or any surface.
And? Bill Russell has more rings than Jordan, but he isn't even the basketball GOAT conversation

And what does basketball has to do with tennis? It is a team sport.. How many times did Bill Russell played against Jordan? How many times Novak played against Fed?

Are you saying variables matter in sports?
Of course not, the criteria for the greatest tennis player are clear: Best looking shirts and shorts, prettiest backhand, funniest commercial he made and most importantly number of followers on social media.

With all due respect for the others but level that Novak and Nadal played has pushed the limits of the human body to the max.. It is higher than any rivalry so far..
Lmao since when has a roided out baldcel and an Auschwitz's survivor been the limits of the human body for tennis?

Nah. It's great that the current king of men's tennis is a 20 year old charismatic killer. I do hope Nadal plays Roland Garros, as I want the youngster to take him out in route to the title.

I really want Djokovic and Nadal to roll back the years one last time. Would love to see Nadal lift another (final?) RG. Would be even sweeter if he could do that beating Carlos. Would be the cherry on top of his incredible legacy at RG.

I said this here in like 2016 lol

Let me see.... AO12 - 5 hours 53 minutes of highest level tennis, they were not able to stand in the ending ceremony.. Federer was only a warm up for Djokdal in Australia, he is negative against both of them 4-1 and 3-1... There were also other matches that I can write about..

Fed got Uber lucky to win 6 AO. He would be double whammied by Rafole in Australia. Would have been epic if all three were at the same time.

Seems Federer despite being retired still lives rent-free in your head :-D

Well Federer and Djokovic never played an AO final. All their meetings there were in the SF.
And several times, Djokovic ended up losing early while in the same side of the draw as Federer but his form wasn't good enough for him to go deep enough to reach Federer in the SF.
And Federer and Nadal are 1-1 at AO in finals.
The other 2 times Nadal beat Federer at AO were in the SF. And both times, Nadal went on to lose in the very next match in the finals.

I don't know. I seen peak levels of other players reach higher than the likes of Nadal and Djokovic. These guys have more consistency though and have benefitted from homogenized surfaces. A lot different to the era of Becker, Edberg, and Sampras.

Widely? USA and UK are not entire world despite their media effort to push that story because sponsors wants that. Online poll for voting and subjective opinion why gives a clear picture.

Would Nadal's body be fully acclimated for 2 weeks of best of 5 sets? Normally when players return out of the blue, they deal with cramps. Nadal is going in with no match play. Would his body adjust immediately at nearly 37 years of age? That clip on Twitter didn't show anything other than him hitting balls at half speed.

So what? Fed wasn't able to stop Novak from getting a title having him in his way.On the other side, Novak has done that to Fed 3 times at WB. Those 2 wins he made were in 2007 against 20 year old Novak and in 2017 against 31 year old Nadal. Djokdal made a 6 year gap (2011-2016) for Fed without a chance to get a title directly facing them.

Djoko only faced prime level fed at AO in 2007.
If wawa could do what he did in 13 and 14, imagine what prime fed could.

Djoko lucky in that regard.
Also djoko hasn't faced one real good opponent at AO after AO 14 stan. Should be at like 7 AOs, max 8, but got mega ultra lucky to get to 10 - vs pathetic fields and the ultra weak fields for most part since 2018.

Put fed in djoko's place and he too like 9-10 AOs given the gazillion semis he has at the AO and high peak level.

AO 19, 20, 21,23 all such weak draws. The least weakest among those is similar to weakest AO fed has won - AO 18. One good opponent, that's it.

Fed Nadal played once at their primes. Best version of Nadal just won vs prime fed in AO 09.
Then 2nd most important March: fed won in AO 17 when both were past their primes, fed even more.

But tell me again how fed is lucky to face them when he was at a disadvantage in like 7 of their 9 matches at the AO (AO 07 was at an advantage vs djoko, AO 09 was about even with Nadal).
I think we should be focusing on AO 05-10 djoko by that logic. Smashed by safin, smashed by fed, won vs mono fed, beat by Roddick, beat by Tsonga.

Realistically, fed/djoko would be about even at AO if similar primes. fed with slight edge over Nadal at AO if they met enough times (Nadal may not make it to semi many times given his QF exits at the AO)

Of course. Having both Nadal and Djokovic in one's path, and Murray too, could be difficult. Federer was on a downslope around that time. He had a resurgence later but Djokovic was playing at peak level until Djokovic likewise had a decline for a period of time. Federer was old by 2018 and struggling to keep up with younger talents. Losing to the likes of Kevin Anderson at Wimbledon and Tsitsipas in Australia was evidence that Federer was on his way out. He produced some late career magic in 2019 but after Wimbledon that year, he was done.
If not for his choking on match points in two of their meetings, Federer should be 5-1 against Djokovic at the US Open. Peak Federer would've handled Djokovic at USO 2015 too. Djokovic was garbage in that match. Federer was worse. Managing only 4/23 in break points.

You are forgeting 2008? Doesn't have to mean, prime Fed in 2005 was stopped by Safin.

Andy Murray in 2015, 2016? Dominic Thiem was number 3 in 2020.

Novak in 2005 was 18 years old. In 2011 Tsonga also stopped Fed at WB. Let's use the same logic for Fed at WB: 1999 - defeated bv Jiri Novak, 2000 - defeated by Yevgeny Kafelnikov, 2001 - defeated by Tim Henman, 2002 - defeated by Mario Ančić... He faced Henman in QF.. other 3 in first round
