What are the "extra" things you do to win a one-off game?

Imagine if you will this scenario; You have an upcoming match that you desperately want to win. For example a social match against a great rival or a finals match for your team. You have a few days to prepare.

What are the "extra" things you do to prepare? The things that give you an edge but that you can't do every time for whatever reason.

Trying to do something out of the ordinary might make your game actually weaker. Focus on what you can do and are good at and just try to be as solid as you can be in those areas. Get mentally ready and if you are pressured that you must win this match you are already at a disadvantage due to pressure. Just believe in your capability and execute them.

I stretch all areas of my body at all hours of the day more so in the days leading up to such a match.

the thing thats going to make the biggest difference will be mental most likely, not physical. do the things you need to do to get your head right. whether its seeing a movie the day before or spending some "time" with your significant other or anything of that nature. sometimes, a focus on trying to push the physicality before a match can put added pressure on you during the actual match.

Stretching good a few hours before the match and then again just before, also the idea of relaxing and watching tennis on tv makes me play a lot better. Seeing pros put together amazing points always gives me higher hopes on the court

Start to consciously Hydrate 12 hours before match.
No Alcohol the night before.
Carboload the evening before, light fare on match day.
A good night's sleep.

All this will make you extra nimble on court.

i usually chat him up before the match, during warm up and especially during the changeovers. you know things like family, work, economy, house prices, etc. usually i can stretch out the changeover time and get a careless game out of it.

for one particular serbian guy i play i always bring up NATO during the chats and it always works. he goes crazy after that and he keeps abusing yanks and saying how cowardly they were to bomb and not fight on the ground.

how much weight loss would you suggest, and how would you go about achieving it?

Sex makes you weak.

Before an important match, avoid sex for a few days. You'll be sharper and more aggressive. Works for me anyways.

If it's just casual doubles...who cares..be a shag toy if you want.
