Monfils seems to run everything down.
Djokovic seems to be able to lounge and extend his body perfectly to get to almost every shot and he has lighting fast legs.

I saw Borna Coric play and he moves extremely well.

So who is the fastest , in terms, of being able to run shots down and cover the entire court.

Good distinction. I think Djok might actually just be faster in footspeed on a tennis court, considering the side to side and agility requiring movements. Murray would win a sprint though .

I wouldn't call Murray "a gazelle", it sounds like he is an elegant mover which he isn't, but he certainly is fast. Djokovic and Nishikori are also rather fast. Nadal should be up there too, even though he is probably not as quick as he used to be.

nice video, only I wouldn't put Federer in the top10, if the criteria is sheer foot speed, there are many other players who are faster than him. however, good anticipation combined with some other elements of movement can help you cover the court well without great foot speed.

Monfils is quicker than Murray and Novak in terms of pure speed, let's get real. He is rather inefficient and doesn't do as much with a ball when he gets there, though.

I agree that he had a considerable speed, and he certainly moved like a cat both in terms of beauty and efficiency but there were many players that are not on the list who were faster when it comes to sheer foot speed. for example Kriek, Gerulaitis, Noah, Clement, Simone... also some of the honorable mentions from the video like Blake, probably Coria and Sampras too.

Gilles Simon always deserves a mention when it comes to speed and court coverage. Especially when he plays someone aggressive. Some crazy defense against Sock at Shanghai last year. He used to be able to do more with the ball in previous years.

He's somewhat quick moving forward, but is generally poor at doing something with the ball once he's there....

having seen most the top 50 live in the last year (USO 16, Miami 16, Houston 16, and various challenger and futures events). I would say the fastest is Murray, Monfils is no doubt an amazing sprinter and talented athlete however when it comes to moving around the tennis court Murray reigns king. Nadal used to be the best, however his knees and foot injuries got the better of him.
