Who is going to win the French Open (men's singles)? I don't think Roddick or Agassi can win 7 in a row against the clay-courters, so I only included people I thought had the most chance on clay.

First of all I can't imagine Nadal winning it with a broken foot (he is very likely out of French). Verkerk is not going to make as big of a run as last year when he played insane tennis. Perhaps you should add Safin to this group and then we can talk.

 This guys getting ripped to shreds about his choices GREAT!

Anyway, probably Coria but i voted for Roger cos i want him to win, and he does have a chance!

O dear, only 1 vote for Juan Carlos! (at the moment!)

I wonder who that was off

I'm also putting one in for Timbo Henman, you wait for one then two come along at once :D

PCMD should like this one....my pick is Moya based on his recent strong play on the dirt

Ferrero is too up and down, and i think its gonna come down to Moya and Coria with Moya just ecking it out

Wouldnt mind Coria taking it either, and my dark darkhorse is Robby Ginepri...

Add in Kuerten... he's not hopeless. Maybe this year is the comeback year? He's done OK on clay, though it's too early to tell whether he's an actual contender.

Nadal can't because he isn't playing it. He's out with a fractured ankle.

If he's healthy, Coria will win it. But that's a big "if."

I consider Ginepri a super dark horse. His only title is on grass (in the US), and he's not had much success on clay. There are other American players who are better dark horse chances. Roddick, for example, has 5 claycourt titles.

Have to go with the usual suspects here -- Coria, Moya, Ferrero -- perhaps Kuerten has a last gasp here, and you can't discount Federer. He can play well on clay when he's confident, as he's shown in the past.

But I think it's Coria's tourney, if he stays fit, but again, he's had a lot of injury issues lately.

Thanks bfonz, Moya's gonna do it. If anything, it's gonna come down to Moya playing Coria in the quarters, semis, or finals for sure, but my boy Moya's gonna take him, or at least I hope he will. Ferrero will go deep, but I just don't see him doing it. Kuerten will finally get back to the quarters or maybe the semis, but he can't win it anymore, sadly, I love that guy.

Federer, Coria, Agassi, Schrichaphan.

Srichaphan is a joke, right? I think he is literally the worst clay court player in the top 50. I don't think he's ever even made a quarterfinal in a small tourney on the dirt. Making second round is even like a feat for him. I mean, his carrear record on clay is 6-17 I think, hahahaa. Only one year did he have an even record, 2-2, all others it's 0-2 twice, 2-4, and 2-6. THat's ugly man.

Nadal has a broken foot, Coria is iffy. Ferrero is still tired. You forgot Safin. He is getting into better shape than he's ever been has started working with Peter Lundgren, and is hungry for RG.

sseemiller I agree with you it is going to be between Coria, Moya, and Ferrero. But I'm sure that if Nadal would have played it he would have won it....

Yeah Susan,

Coria is the favourite on form but I think that Ferrero will kick start his year at the French with a solid display and go all the way to the final at least, or until he runs into Coria.
