Safin is like a comedy show out there. No other player actually makes you laugh consistently while you watch them play. He has a special little relationship with each umpire. "How you can make that call, Lars?"

Tsonga is very entertaining. Baghdatis when he's playing well.
I totally agree with you. I'd add stepanek, his playing style is cool and his behavior is sometimes so funny, and clement, he is a player that doesn't take himself too serious and is always game for some fun (for example yesterday when he checked that call on the joker's side of the court) to that list.

IS Stepanek the one who does the HORSE PRANCING....god thats funny. Its like he'd just got some and is showing off in the paddock!
toro toro...Mr.Santoro - he's still the last one to prove that power isn't why tennis is entertaining

For the quality of play and shotmaking I'd say any match featuring either Fed (beautiful technique, high speed execution, quick thinking) or Nadal (you just can't hit easy winners against this guy, his counterpunching is fantastic).
Other than that Santoro is always entertaining and also Stephanek, because he mixes up quite a lot of attacking shots. And that is about it. Most players nowadays are boring baseline bashers without creativity.

you said it better than I could. I agree.

I love watching Ana's style of tennis. Her game is based on going for the corners and down the line, it's a very attacking type of tennis. When she plays passive she loses, but when she plays her game she wins because she's always going for winners and she has the ability to make a lot of tough shots. She's an amazing player to watch. Most entertaining on the tour in my opinion.

Yeah, last night's match made Santoro look bad, but Roddick was playing great. Santoro is my pick for most entertaining. I also love watching Gasquet, his strokes are very unique, and obviously his backhand is a beautiful shot. Stepanek's always entertaining. I love watching Safin, aside from the entertaining (though I always feel bad for him) moments of frustration, he has great looking strokes, and who doesn't love seeing him pounding that two-hander down the line and then charge the net to hit a delicate drop volley? Monfils is great, especially on clay. I love watching Ivan Ljubicic, as well. Awesome backhand.

In the Challenger Division, I would nominate Dusan Vemic. A fast, athletic shot-maker. Drop shot winners off of first serves, incredible lobs, obscene angles off of the volley and a huge serve. He gambles too much to be really successful on tour but when he is on you never know what he is going to come up with. And he always looks loose out there with his Oakley's and the ponytail.

I agree, he played an AMAZING match against Scoville Jenkins in the last round of the PLO qualies this year. He was cramping badly, couldn't even serve, yet still pulled through in a 3rd set tie-break. It was just unbelievable, he was collapsing to the ground in between every point, and charging the net kamikaze style. Best match that no one ever saw.:)

Today I was watching Llodra and I was very entertained. To see someone attack the net at every occasion is very refreshing in this baseline bashing era.

yeah, it's sad to see that such a great SV can't do nothing to Murray's baseline game... now i see why nobody approaches to net anymore...

I wish Hingis was here to play the Williams sisters. Those matches were the best I've ever seen in the history of tennis.

Well, I do think at strategic moments Llodra made a couple of bad choices such as going for too much on break point occasions, then again on set point for himself in the fourth being too passive. I think he should have a look at the match and think where it went wrong. I feel it is not because of tactics he lost but rather because of not being able to seize the momentum.

The other thing is that Murray was very unsportsmanlike at certain occasions and Llodra also had a couple of bad calls against him. This should not have any influence over the course of a match but everything added up I do think that it made him lose certain important games.

Tsonga reminds me of a young Agassi (minus the ability to take the ball freakishly on the rise).

Llodra lost to a much better player. That simple. He did play well, though. Great touches at the net.

well, i think some players are entertaining to watch just because of them, but someties, the interesting and fun part is the matchup...
Santoro, is for the the most fun player, but, he was helpless at his age, by roddicks power, wich is, the most boring and painful to watch for me. (is it me or the stroles just are pure pain?)

for instance, santoro against blake was a real delight, also blake agassi played great, but blake isnt very nice to watch most of the time.

i miss agassi... he somehow matured from a power hitter to a artist on the court.

one more thing... i think doubles mathces should be really entertaining... they have a lot more variables, in tactics and strategics.

maybe we shouldnt be so obsessed about ball hiting...

or egoes rising through the rankings

I like how Agassi varied the pace and angle, and his dropshot was incredible. He makes today's players look pathetically one-dimensional. Of course, the thing I miss most about Agassi is the way he took the ball so early, it was a freakish ability never before seen and never will be seen again.

Creativity

there seems to be a lack of it nowdays... everyone wants to hit it harder and heavier. I hope someone somewhere. who's the more creative player??

i know, consistency wins... maybe that is why
we must come up with a plan to beat this baseliners from hell with rocket fast rackets that blow away the poor serve and volleyers...
