What's wrong with crocodiles? Much of the time they just laze around in the sun with their mouths open, as if they've forgotten something they wanted to say. Better than lizards. I wouldn't think of tennis hands as a crocodile.
Nothing wrong. They are too pointy - pointy mouth, pointy teeth, pointy tail, pointy skin... Nah I can't have fun with such pointlessly pointy creatures.

That’s a good erm, ahh, well, point. I hadn’t thought of it quite in that way. Pointlessly pointy creatures could be evolution’s inside joke, one of the longest running ones.

They never draw crocodiles pointlessly pointy. Maybe illustrators and designers aren’t being entirely honest with us.

What a cute croc. I do like Lacoste's brand a lot. Now only if actual crocs looked like that cartoon. Really, caricatures are often better than actual photos. There should be a 'your caricature/cartoon' thread.

You would be Snowy and me Hobbes. That's sorted anyway.

I just love how this thread seems to have turned into the animal one.

We should all be quite thankful for Tennis Hands leading the way.

I have one of the photos from the aftermatch of Miami 2005 as my screensaver.

https://blog.wanabet.es/tenis/miami-y-las-5-curiosidades-del-inicio-de-la-rivalidad-federer-nadal/

So far everyone at work either recognises both of them or neither of them.

They invariably love the picture itself which amuses me, probably shouldn't repeat some of the comments!

I always find it interesting to see how much of the world shares and knows of my own personal interests. I love getting all kinds of responses. You can get some of the most interesting convos in some of the places you never expect them.

I was in Peru, travelling from Aguas Calientes (Hot Springs) in the Andes to Cusco, I got off a train at a place called Oleyentambo and met my driver, who was going to take me there. As always I start asking the questions, and when I started asking the questions about tennis, the driver became very animated and eager to have the discussion. So for like 3 hours straight we just talked tennis as we drove around the mountains. He said his dream was always to go to Wimbledon and watch Federer and Nadal play, they were his favs. I pressed him to tell me if he liked one more than the other, he said he felt he could relate more to Nadal, but was more blown away by Federer's majestic play, and didn't miss any matches of them. He was fond of Djokovic also, he said Novak's courage impressed him, because of the way he believed, he said he preferred Fedal, but couldn't say a bad word about Novak.

In the real world people almost invariably seem to admire all three of them although they may have a personal favourite.

Honestly, on this forum I just want to ask people: Do you really think that Federer only won because of "weak competiton"? Do you really think that Nadal is useless off clay? Do you really think Djokovic is boring? It just seems half the time people are taking up positions that they can't actually believe to be true. So are they deluding themselves? Or are these things just said to provoke?

I will just say this, what we get on these forums is not the reality of what exists out there, I can say this from personal experience. I have never heard anyone mention strong era or weak era, or H2H, or too clay heavy resume, or too boring etc etc. They just like to watch them play and think they are all great, even if they have their own personal favorites. I have yet to meet anyone who says they hate or dislike a certain player, or that they have a desire for their guy to be GOAT. Many have no idea of what GOAT actually means in tennis, and many only really know of Wimbledon as a tennis event...you would be surprised by this, considering tennis is meant to be a global sport.

I guess you get the more hardcore people in a higher concentration on forums such as this, and virtual life is not the same as real life, the buffer of real life is not here, when you are behind a screen. I sometimes consider comparing posting on a tennis forum to being drunk...you lose your inhibitions somewhat and maybe say and do things you otherwise wouldn't say or do in real life.

Look if everybody in this site respected the Big 3 then this site would have been very boring. There wouldnt have been GOAT threads, there wouldnt have been battles between certain users and overall it would have been a calm place

Having no actual way to triple like a post I’m going to copy it three times bolding the part that I completely and utterly find to find true about the difference between General Pro and the actual world of tennis.

I've never actually been drunk so I wouldn't know. I find it hard enough to make the right decisions with a clear brain, I don't want a chemical making decisions for me!!

But I completely agree with the whole post.

But aren't the best discussions between people who feel very passionately about their opinions but know how to be respectful?

Hahahaha so funny!!!!!
My son is now into a rap phase and it’s really not suiting him very well.

It is impossible to keep up w him so I am just doing my own things and he is interested in what I am doing. Me and his dad have had a bit of reverse roles. I’ve been the one teaching him to swim, bike etc. I’m the one that likes to do kids stuff. And I am more of an action seeker than his dad.
If I ever have a girl I don’t know what to do. I get away w a lot being like this and having a son. I used to play w boys as a kid and a tomboy. What I like the most is to make him laugh very hard, I can eat a thumb of wasabi and arrange “challenges” which are popular for their age.
I think the trick is to do what we think is fun as well.
Only thing I do w him which I think is boring is to watch him and his friend rapping and dancing the same thing over and over for at least one hour.

Do you have girls or boys? Both?
boy

It’s even worse now than in the 90s.
I also love some rap, for example 50 cent I’ve listen to a lot, Nas, Snoop.
Its super over emotional XXX he loves. I would prefer if he rather listened to 2Pac or proper gangster rap lol
I am two degrees of separation from 50 cent. One degree in the virtual world. Sort of.

Rap might have a bad Rap. hehe I don't know. Maybe during the 90's with the whole gangster rap thing. We're all gonna hear swear words anyway, right? But nah, I still listen and I turned out OK. lol

I actually find some rap songs emotionally moving sometimes. Some of the songs that tell a story or a struggle.

Some songs just I like b/c of the way it sounds and don't listen to the lyrics that much. This applies to any genre of music.

This is one of my favorite songs. It is also in one of my favorite movies. After spending some time discussing the story with the writer, it only made me like the film even more.

I have a daughter. (the one in the red top)

Totally unlike me in every way. Very sporty, very resistant to peer pressure (I mean, I am now but not when I was her age), very calm.

And it's fantastic, because it means I must have let her own personality grow and not tried to put her in a mould.

So if you ever have a daughter, don't worry, be yourself and let her be herself and you'll be fine.

Gorgeous daughter!

Yes I think it’s good to let them grow up to be who they are. As you say let their own personality grow.
I was a daddy girl and I had so much arguments with my mother. That is what scares me about having a daughter.

No it was not. Guys like you are always so quick to apologize if some girl (even if she is faceless and nameless) show attention or threaten to withold attention. Stick to your guns like a man bruh.
Perhaps. Appreciate the support and advice. I do actually think things like that a lot, but saying them and actually doing them are two different things for me.

I didn’t handle yesterday well. I was in a bad mood from the night before and a bit wounded (it’s quite unpleasant to have your own mother tell even in probably pure anger that you’re a horrible person, and have her explain in detail exactly how hard life is going to be for me exposing every flaw of mine) and my nerves were on top of my skin and I was having serious anxiety. I should absolutely show more backbone (especially with all the MGTOW stiff I watch preaching this stuff to me) , but my emotions got the best of me again.

I’ve had people from my mom to my social staff get onto me about standing up for myself. And I know o should. But it feels like the hardesg things to do in the world’s sometimes.

But I guess Bill Burr may be right when he says sometimes “you’ve got to give these chicks what they need, so what if they get pissed for a few days, just rub one out”.

I didn't get on that well with either of my parents and I was pretty obsessed with not repeating my mother's mistakes (probably made plenty of my own oh well...).

I guess I just try and think out the best thing to do and if I get it wrong I apologize to her. Can't do no more.

Frost.

Clay is over for this year.

Damn what I wouldn’t give to have red clay here! I tried to stir the pot with that earlier this year to no avail it appears. Even with this new technology they have American tennis places won’t change because people moan about their socks getting ruined. If you don’t want to get dirty don’t play tennis I say.

Being dirty is one of the things in life we shouldn’t be so afraid of.

On all levels ;)

Would have looked better if you were taking it. You would have to catch me off guard to get the best of me. I have a cringe face even if I'm saying smile to myself. This thing is so old, don't even know how to set timer on it so I couldn't relax. I'm just that awkward. :p Can understand that a lot goes into photography.

Of course because I take pictures, mind you. When I was travelling with my family back in July, I took a lot of pictures of them. At first, they would always pose as people tend to do so I started taking pictures when they were completely unaware. That’s when you catch the real moments. It’s also more natural.

There are lots of tips and tricks to learn when it comes to portrait. For example, I would have made you look down a bit and the light is too much. It’s not soft. You want to hide some details but not all of it. I would have given you more structure, more feature etc. I am actually doing a lot of portraits later this year.

Proper lighting is incredibly important in photography. Can make or break a picture.

And yes, you need to relax a great deal. A great photographer always relaxes their subjects by becoming friendly in an attempt to make them comfortable.

Don’t be silly. I am merely speaking from the experience I have. To me, it’s not about if you are hot or not. That was not the angle I was taking about but anyway.

It is still very you isn’t it? I liked it very much because I can see you.

Rich, I would goof around with you a great deal before taking any pictures because my attempt would be to see the real you and that’s beautiful once I bring it out in the open. And I’d like to capture that moment.

I don’t think she is horrible. She is doing what she think is the best for you.
She isn’t educated in this and you also get very little help from the outside world.

But you are the only one who knows how to live your life. Not even the best mother in the universe knows that.

I don’t think we should continue this subject in this thread as we have gone very off topic. It’s a picture thread.
No problem.
