Congrats to Osaka and it's great for tennis. Very well played. That umpire was out of line in my eyes. The point penalty was enough but a game penalty? Serena has never got a coaching violation in her career. Just keep it fair play because she doesn't cheat to win. I wish Serena just not let it get to her and move on though. Should not have lost her cool.

I can't get all that worked up about Serena making an arse out of herself because I've been watching tennis since the 70's and I've seen a lot worse.
However, hopefully this match let's Serena know she is NOT in shape and that a powerful serve is not going to get her past the best in the sport. She needs to start putting some serious work into her conditioning.
And she's too damned good and has won too damned much to lose it on the court like that.

Unfortunately, Osaka's win won't be the story, it'll be about the madness that occurred on the changeover at 4-3 in the second set. Patrick just admitted that he was coaching when Ramos gave her the warning. Blaming others not getting penalties for coaching never works. Whenever people get caught for speeding, telling the cop that others are doing it never gets you off from getting a ticket.
