Today's match proved to me that Rafa is well aware of the streak, and will do all he can to extend it.

One thing I know, Rafa respects Goffin. David is gaining momentum, but unfortunately is not yet 100%. But getting there. He is phisically 100% but it does look as if he is a bit behind as for a lack of matches played after the eye injury.
And there is the extra anger of that match on clay vs. Rafa abruptly interrupted from Cedric. And if we believe in cycles, the clay season might just get a shock tomorrow and continue from that interruption.

Sets don't matter just matches, don't jinx Rafa or get cocky
Lol do you really believe “jinxing” is an actual thing? I’m 100% certain that people on a tennis forum have no impact on the result of a match.

Erm...no. Is the same, when Novak was blasting everyone, or Federer.

They were still losing sets and playing tiebreaks on HC/grass even at the height of their dominance.

Whether that's because Nadal's that much better on his best surface, shallow CC field (especially in the last 2 years) or some combination of the two the end result is still the same, matches were a lot closer.

Of course Nadal fans are enjoying the ride, other fanbases would have too but it's not terribly exciting for the rest of us. Well except when Rafa's destroying some latest overhyped young prospect, I admit I enjoy those.

Read Kei's pathetic interview from last week where he admitted when he faces Nadal he "has only a very little chance" of beating him. Imagine someone like Connors ever saying something so weak?

Kei is the most humble man on ATP tour and he said not to damage his excellent reputation!
