Monaco should shoot himself. You can't throw away 7 break points against Federer early in a 3rd set. That's equivalent to suicide.

And he saved both break points to take it to Deuce.

Not really now...he is like this with players he has never met (this is the first time he met Monaco)...always close.

I don't think he is in a slump...just look at his stats 44 winners (on clay!)...but he has to do something about those unforced errors, 38. So Im still confident for him specially on grass where winners WIN matches :)

Well, if Federer thinks he doesn´t need a coach, it´s ok.
Don´t forget that because of the rain the match was played on a INDOOR clay court and that was a big factor for Federer. I´m not sure if the result would be the same in outdoors. Anyway I hope it stops raining and we can watch outdoors matches in all the courts.

Get your freaking first serve in no matter what. these players aren't looking to attack his first serve at all. kick it in a put them deep if you have too. Gosh and use your slice backhand. the guy was just kicking his serve wide, and federer would hit a descent backhand return right down the middle, but on clay it's right in the wheelhouse. SLICE.

Well Monaco had many break points in the first game that Federer served in the 3rd set but he squandered them. If he converted 1 of them then the match would end up with Federer losing most probably.

he said something like it was a difficulat match partly because this
monaco guy is very talented...

I saw winning live in buenos aires this year and, indeed, monaco played superbly, hitting winners all around, good mental game, excellent condition and all. But then watched on tv on the rest of the S. American season, and played terrible, so i dont really know what to say.
