Well, apparently, that team that's horrible still made the playoffs coming from 4-8, and beat a team that's been in the Playoffs six years running with a coach 10 years running with a coach that everyone says sucks. And the Bolts have one of the best RB's in history, along with another up and coming at backup and the Highest league passer rating. Also, this "sucky" team at least, last year, had a league leading 30 picks. You really think they've sucked all this time?

granted Norv has really run the team into the ground, but still.

and looks like i went 4-0 in playoffs!

and as for the Steelers, the Bolts will be ready for revenge.

Do you really see the Chargers beating the Steelers? A RESTED Steelers, no less. And with banged up LT and Sproles.
If you still believe that, then you won't be 4-0 much longer.

the chargers can certainly play with the steelers. didn't roth get knocked around a few weeks ago? is that "rested"? i would call LT "rested" then as well. the chargers should have beat the steelers earlier this season. if they play to their full potential they will win.

not only are LT and sproles awesome, but so are jackson, rivers, gates and gates. they are not lacking in talent... but consistent execution. same on D, they have some talented players on D as well. if both teams come to play it will be a slugfest.

A rested Steelers D or a Chargers D coming off 5 straight wins, with the momentum, with the revenge factor in play. I'd pick the Chargers D anyday. +, tell me a playmaker on the Steelers Offense. Willie Parker ain't no legit threat, and i never really counted on big ben either, He's having one of his worser years. an 80.1 passer rating. I still don't understand why people don't see the chargers a threat. granted, they still might not win, but they held Peyton manning to under 23 points twice, something that i have NOT seen the steelers do. And as for Sproles, I don't see anything other than momentum coming from that guy, much less a "banged-up" sproles. as for being 4-0, you're right. The ?-0 will be right, that's for sure. :)

On second thought, Looking back at that colts game, you see how Manning pretty much had to take over? Well, i can see that the same thing will PROBABLY happen to the Steelers. Unfortunately, Ben is no Manning, and the O-line has given up 46 sacks, and allowed Ben to throw for his 2nd leading 15 INT's. He has a slow Hines Ward to throw to, and an inconsistent Holmes.

They may have the D, but do they have the Offense? Chargers have the Offense, the Defense has been picking up the slack as of late. Don't see the Steelers coming through. But then again, people are always wrong.

Big Ben got a concussion 2 weeks ago. Honestly, it takes only a few days to recover from that. So YES, he's rested. Whereas LT is not. Read the reports, buddy.

LT (if he even plays) and Sproles will not be able to run like they did against the Colts. Polamalu and Harrison are better than anybody in the Colts (and Chargers) defense. And the defensive line will pressure Rivers all day and you can't even deny that he's terrible with pressure.

If you want to talk stats, here are some for you: Harrison has 16 sacks, 7 forced fumbles, and 101 tackles (1 sack and 1 forced fumble against the Chargers). Polamalu has 7 INTs (1 against the Chargers). Back in week 11, Rivers threw for 164 yards, no TDs, 2 INTs, was sacked twice, and fumbled the ball once. And the "slow" Hines Ward had 11 catches for 124 yards. Jackson and Gates had COMBINED 35 yards.

Right, but that's just one game. Over the past YEAR, who has the better stats? I never said that Ben isn't rested, at least i didn't mean it that way, but he is having a pretty down year. And if you think about it, the Colts D is just as ferocious as the Steelers. Bob Sanders, Robert Mathis, Dwight Freeney, Ratliff, Brock, They are ALL JUST AS GOOD as the the STEELERs.

As for Rivers, he choked that game, but the commentators were talking about how much he's improved, with a 110ish rating after he's been touched once, compared to a 35ish rating last year. and isn't ben just as worse, if not worser compared to rivers under pressure?

And Ok, they may have Polamalu, Harrison, and Farrior, but who else? If you really asked the Charger's O Line to step up, they wouldn't even be touching rivers period.

what was the final score of that game? where was the game played? i thought i remember it coming down to a field goal with no time left for the steelers to win. your stats make it sound soo one sided, as if the steelers killed them. rivers threw a pick in the red zone when a td would have won the game.

what do you see the score being in the upcoming game? are the steelers just going to crush the chargers? i would call the game a toss up. i think it could go either way... to the team the plays better. if both teams play at their top level i could see the weather and home field advantage making a difference... but those come secondary to how well each team plays.

Wow...with an 8-8 record playing in the best weather in the country and a lucky win over the Colts, and anyone might think, from your comments, that the Chargers are Super Bowl-bound.

The party's about to end. You can trash talk all you want about Big Ben and the Steelers' offensive line, but reality is about to set in. How about, your wimpy ass Chargers playing in zero degree wind chill temperatures against a bunch of guys who will be wearing short sleeves...

The Steelers played terrible in the regular season game (and still won, even when they were ripped off of a TD). They've got their problems on the offense, sure...but nothing that's going to hinder their run into the AFC Championship game a couple weeks down the line.

Heh, I knew sooner or later we'd draw out that big steelers fan.

as for the weather, I'm not worried at all, save for Kaeding, who really can't kick for **** at away games.

and you know, the chargers probably would have had the steelers at a pinch if Kaeding hadn't missed that field goal.

"home" cooking ..... road leftovers

Just AS FEROCIOUS? Com'on pf, if I didn't know any better, I'd think you were...um, a Charger fan? ;-) In my opinion, there are at least 6 (and possibly SEVEN) "east" teams whose "D's" are more ferocious than the *ferocious* Colt's D: Steelers, Ravens, Eagles, Giants, Titans & Panthers. The possible 7th? Lemme ask you this: honestly, would you REALLY like your chances playing AT New England against a 'Rivers-specific' Bill Belichek thought-up defensive scheme? The Colts injuries eventually caught up with them; that's all last weekend's SD-IND game was about and the Colt offense is clearly a notch below what they used to be. "Ferocious D" on a par with Pittsburgh's? Sorry, can't see it. When the Steelers hit you, they HIT you. When the Raven's hit you, they HIT you and further, nobody knows from where the hell Rex Ryan (Raven "D" Coord.) is going to be sending his pass rush from half the time! The Eagles' (a now hot/dangerous team) "D" is clearly playing at a more "ferocious" level than Indy and there's a team that even after losing their two leading pass rushers (Osimenyura-ACL; Strahan-retired) still cranked out 12 wins: the defending Super Bowl champs, the New York football Giants. You beat the Steelers in Pitt, on that choppy field, against that D, I'll eat my hat.

Now, you're not only being silly, now you're starting to sound like a Charger fan.

Ok, taking your "unbiased" logic into account, why then wouldn't an offensive coordinator worth his salt simply scheme the game play towards the other 8 "who else?" players on the Steeler "D"??? Your leading back L.T., as great as he is/was, has a playoff history that suggests he's an offensive-side-of-the-ball "John Abraham" (Falcon LB) when it comes to the team needing him. (btw, I'm referring to the John Abraham who when he was with the Jets, sat out playoff games for among other things, the flu  and who this past weekend, disappeared altogether during crunch time, save for one, solitary gaget play that ARZ literally ran into his arms).

About that brave little running back Sprowles: can he carry the load on a slower, bumpier track this weekend?....this after undoubtably carrying some bumps and bruises from touching the ball so much last week? Again, he's a hell of a little player and I really like his spunk and his grit, but him having to put up with hit after hit after hit??......he ain't Earl Campbell.

^^^True, i may be biased, but is nobody not when they see their team going against another's?

My point is, that those three stand out. For instance on the charger's team last year at least, they had: Crime Time, Merriman, Luis Castillo, Jamal Williams, Quentin Jammer, Philips.

And still on offense, even with that dumb@ss Vincent Jackson getting a DUI, they have a powerhouse offense with gates, LT, Rivers, Chambers, and an upcoming Sproles and Naanee.

As for the colts, their Defense was pretty much all back. Really no excuses there.

but can't wait for all the weekend action!

no, that isn't the case for all the games in the NFL. and stats are great and all... but the game isn't played on paper. it is played on the field.

i don't think the lions or browns or chiefs or any just average team is going to beat an elite team very often. maybe once out of ten... but even if they play perfectly and play the "matchups" they are still going to lose if the elite team plays well. the lions playing the best game of their season isn't going to beat the titans playing average. and how is "not playing well not a reason for losing"?? i said if the chargers and steelers both play their best game it will be a shootout that could go either way. if either team plays poorly they will lose. so if the chargers come to play and the steelers don't then not even the weather or the home field advantage will save the steelers.

any score predictions for the chargers steelers game? sounds like many think the steelers are going to crush the chargers. with the tight games they have had in the past few seasons i don't see this happening. i know the steelers have a killer D, but i think the chargers can hang. they play well against the steelers like they do against the colts.

yeah, not being able to play with a torn groin ligament makes LT comparable to Abraham. wow. Who else on these boards has actually played ANY football. some of the stuff that comes up on these boards is amazing. and as for Sproles... the dude is tough. i agree that he will be hurting after this week, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to perform. he plays hard and that is all we can ask. and hester is a big young kid who can pound the ball a bit if needed. but i think the chargers will have to be able to move the ball around if they expect to put up some points. i would like to see gates, jackson and chambers getting plenty of touches.

^^^ as would I, but that dumb@ss V. Jackson got has @ss duped for a DUI...

anyways for score predicitions, It's either gonna be real tight, or a one sided game. If it were close, i'd say maybe 24-21 of that sort, with the steelers victory, or if it's a blowout, Chargers getting a good 35+ points to a steelers 20-24 range.

it's sad that LT's done, but hopefully Sproles and Hester can step up. They have been showing up some pretty nice moves, and as for you Sproles Doubters out there, He has consistently showed that when asked to step up, he will. Week 2 of this year, he got what should have been the winning TD, and even against the colts last year, either in the playoffs or regular season, the guy is a ST/Offense beast. He runs kicks, punts, and gets scores off of them.

i wouldn't be surprised if he managed to do so in this ensuing game. as for the rest of the Bolts' receiving corps, if Jackson plays, he may get doubled, as he has the height, and the guy's plenty fast. Chambers is another problem, as he makes some pretty acrobatic catches, and some of the TE's are shaping up like Jason Witten. Macolm Floyd seems to be identical to Jackson in ways, and expect touches from him if Jackson gets 2x'ed.

I'll edit this later...

The Colts have won games because of calls in their favour several times in the past and I admit that. It's proven in one of the Steelers games where an interception got reversed when clearly it was one which almost gave the Colts an (undeserved) playoff win. Home field advantage gives you that and with what little I follow of football that much is obvious, only a "fool" would be unable to see that.

I follow (European) football first and foremost, growing up with it with the English League so that's where my heart lies is all I mean with the not "following". My American family members had me watching Colts games a lot of the time since they are based in Indiana so I know the rules and ins and outs just don't watch many games mate. LT doesn't have the greatest record in the playoffs. but there isn't much he can do about a torn groin. a groin injury is SOOO painful and pretty much impossible to play on for a running back. much worse than say a broken toe or finger or even hand or arm. as for your tons of football experience, i am sure you know what it is like to play with torn groins, dislocated fingers, broken toes, sprained ankles etc. it isn't much fun is it?

What is your problem t87? You went the personal route in your previous post what with your "wow am I the only one who played football?" bragging. (hmmm..my guess? under-sized WR; they're usually yappy/diva-prone; smirk-but I digress) As for your sarcastic, snide follow up (quoted above): torn groin? no. But I did play unbeknownst to me with a clay fracture that years later morphed into a the need for 4-hour (c5, c7 transplant) spinal surgery proceedure; this stemming from losing my 'hat' and stupidly/stubbornly continuing in a nutcraker drill (inc. the 'split' forehead). Dislocated fingers? Frankly, I think most players have. Broken fingers? Two (yes, so what?) Sprained ankles? Many. Shaved ankles and tape jobs are no guarantee. Concern yourself with your 'Bolts and spare me your "has ANYONE ELSE here ACTUALLY played football?" bragging should someone here have the temerity to offer their 2 cents, ok? Save it for your tennis-playing friends. Thanks, Bo. lol

ON-TOPIC:
Who'd the Cardinals present the game ball to...aside from the slew of game balls' Delhomme gave them?

And to think, all this without that monster Anquan Boldin (what a tandem Fitz and him). Cards did a nice job of moving Fitzgerald around; Panthers didn't adjust well off the line; let Fitz get off clean all too often....oh and Warner's OL did one hell of a job.

Honestly, I think the game ball should go to the defense. Every single one of them. They were incredible. The defensive line was penetrating really well and held DeAngelo Williams to just 63 yards. Plus, all that pressure on Jake Delhomme forced him to make stupid mistakes (SIX TURNOVERS?!). All this from a defense that hasn't performed well all throughout the regular season.

Right. But some of the throws Delhomme had were just horrible decisions.
sometimes that stuff happens when you just have too much time.

There were 2 picks that i'll take credit away from him for: the one that steve smith bobbed and also the pick in the endzone; Delhomme was really pressed for a score, and in those situations, you try too hard. even so, he threw an ATROCIOUS game. 2 of them were literally directly to the DB's. That stuff should not be happening out there. and Kudos to the Card's O line for keeping Peppers locked up.

Were you watching the same game I was? The first few turnovers were due to him being pressured in the pocket. He had NO time. But I agree with you on the INT in the endzone. And I think the last couple turnovers was because he tried too hard, like you said.

Yeah, that's what i meant. i think the first one he got flushed out of the pocket and threw straight to DRC, but i remember that there was one ball where he had a crap load of time and then got it INT'd. I probly exaggerated a bit.

Thanks, Bo. lol

ON-TOPIC:
Who'd the Cardinals present the game ball to...aside from the slew of game balls' Delhomme gave them?

i don't really have any "problem" except for people that are going to try to call out a classy professional like LT for pussing out in the playoffs. your comments were good enough to laugh at. comparing him to abraham, etc is pathetic. so i called you out on it. it is that simple. i wasn't bragging at all, but honestly asking. from reading the bs around here that people post (yourself included) it is hard to believe that any have played ball. but anyways, if you really know what it is like to play through injuries then give LT a break. he hasn't missed a game since 05 and for you to call him out for missing the playoffs with a torn groin is pathetic.

the chargers steelers game was pretty much what i expected. both teams played pretty well, but the bounces went to the steelers. their D looked pretty good. parker looked good as well. chargers couldn't get a stop on 3rd downs more than a few times. couldn't really gauge the chargers O with that weak int by rivers and the punt going off weddle. oh well.

Me neither. By the way, he played his college ball at PITTSBURGH.

And SPEAKING OF Pittsburgh...how 'bout dem Bolts? Heckuva game, huh? Anymore trash talk from you today on how slow or lousy the Stillers are? Good...didn't think so.

hey! going a little o'er the top dontcha think? every fan'll trash talk some, but hey, we just got outplayed by the better team. I will say that Parker's back, but unfortunately, still not convinced by Ben. but against their next opponents, maybe that won't be as much of a factor.

no need to add more insult, i have already acknowledged that my team lost, and yours won. Went 6-2 for predictions so far. really thought the bolts had that chance....:(

Big Ben looked great and with that defense you'd have to think they're the favorites to win it all. The Pitt/Ravens game should be good though, Parker will have to get some yards to loosen up that great defense.
