I haven't hit with the RDiS 100 at all, so cannot speak to that. But I can definitely say that the RDiS 300 is more flexible than the 003 -- not by much, mind you; but it is more flexible and is also an easier racquet to swing.
Zheng Jie moved from the 003 to the RDiS 300; and indeed the two have specs that are very very similar. But having said that, I would order the RDiS 300 and play with it for a while, and if you like it still get two or three more. It's a great racquet that has not received the attention it deserves.

How does that 300 play strung at 50? Is it too powerful?

No, actually 50 is at the lower end of the recommended stringing range. That's not to say i haven't hit my share of long shots with it; I have. But that's my fault, not the racquet's.
For me -- and I have playtested and researched many others -- this racquet is perfect.

Demoed them all. Prince, Wilson, Dunlop, Head, Fischer, Volkl and on and on. Yonex frames were simply better, more comfortable and better built

Absolutely!!!! I just ordered my sixth RDiS 300. I love this racquet!!

Hey, I just picked up a couple myself. Could u give me some direction on what tension to string at? I got some red Technifibre XOne Biphase ready to slap on.
Mid tension would be 52, 53. I usually string mid to low due to the added comfort, but I don't want too much pop. Can you make a recommendation? thanks.

Well,, it all depends on how good you are. I strung mine at 50, because I have some arm pain (not because of the racquet, but my technique) and because I want to be able to take a full cut at the ball and not have it go flying.
You could probably get away with stringing it at a higher tension...but I am just supposing that you ar emore advanced as a player than I am.

Our local shop has a demo program that lasts a month. Try as many racquets as you like over that 30 day period (max 2 at a time). Needless to say I demo'd a number of racquets. I only tried the RDiS 300 because all of the more "popular" racquets were out of the shop or I had already tried them. I demo'd the RdiS 300 for a week, after that week I asked if I could keep it another week ;-). I ended up purchasing one and have loved it ever since. For others out there looking for a new racquet I suggest demoing a Yonex. I stumbled upon them and am now a convert.

Quick question - Does anyone know what tension Yonex strings the demos at? It had Yonex 850 Pro in it and I assume it came strung from the factory since the local shop doesn't sell Yonex string. I have it strung right now at 58 with Wilson Sensation and it is performing just fine. I have purchased the 850 Pro from TW however and will go with that next.

50 is pretty low. You dont have too much power at 50? You do realize that the lower you go, the more power you get, right? I only ask that because you mentioned wanted to be able to take a full cut and not have it go flying?

Demos are usually strung at mid tension, which would be 52,53 for the RDIS 300. 58 is towards the top end of the range (45-60) so that should give you a lot of control with less power. How are you finding the power level with it strung at 58?

Thanks, for the info. It is not as powerful as the demo. I do like to take a full swing so it hasn't been a big problem. I actually found the level of control on the demo to be quite good, therefore I haven't noticed a huge difference in control on ground strokes. I do notice that I have more control on my serve. Flat serve not quite as hard...but it goes in ;-) I think when it is time for new strings I will go with Yonex 850 Pro at 56. Can't hurt to experiment.

throw some Technifibre XOne Biphase in RED on that frame. Great soft multi string and the red looks great on the white/red frame w/ a red grip :)

Thanks for pointing that out...I have to figure out a tension that will maximize the comfort for my arm (my racquets already is pretty arm-friendly in and of itself) and one that will let me take a decent cut at the ball.
If I generate topsin (and hit the ball correctly), the ball will land within a couple feet of the baseline if I am hitting from behind my baseline. (At least it was for my lessons; I find that when I get into a rally situation with my buddies, it's a bit more difficult.)

lower tension and thinner strings = more comfort, but if you go too low, the ball will have a lot of "trampoline effect" and go flying on you.

so are you saying 50 is good?

That's what I am wondering now -- in training conditions, it seems just right; but in a rallying situation with buddies, it can go flying.
I am, frankly, at a quandry as to what to do.

I am going to try mine in the middle, at 52 or 53.
I'll report back after I get em strung and try em out.

I talked to the experts at TW and they are recommending that I go up to 55 or 57, but I think I am going to try 50 lbs for a while longer -- because I am basing my panic on just one bad experience. Gotta give it more time. The recommended stringing tension is 45-60 -- so I am not way at the bottom of the scale. A few more pounds and I'd be right in the middle anyway. So I am going to wait and see.
Besides -- restringing six racquets is gonna be kinda costly! So I'd better be sure...

I am thrilled for you!!!! Welcome to that exclusive (yet always welcoming) group of people who truly appreciate the quality and delicious handling of Yonex racquets.
I am especially happy to hear that it has helped with your arm pain. You may want to try some exercises that appeared in the NY Times recently for TE to fight this -- not sure how they help the shoulder, though.
My sixth RDiS 300 arrived today...I keep waiting for Tiffany to try this as it is a bit heavier than her RDS 003, and yet somehow easier (at least to me) to swing.
You women are the best!!
Congratulations!

Did they give a reason for telling you to go even higher than the middle (52,53)?

No. But note that, at 50 lbs, my racquet is approaching the middle -- another reason why I am going to hit with this tension for a while yet before concluding that I am swinging a trampoline instead of just hiotting the ball wrong.
Using Occam's razor on my tennis, it's probably the latter, because that is the simplest andmost probable explanation for my home run balls.

if you are missing by a few feet.....its the tension. If you are hitting the back fence....its technique.

Congrats, I think Kana should be given a key to the Yonex users' executive bathroom (and kudos for the use of the word 'plethora' on the blog, it's a good'un.)

I use the RQiS 1 Tour light too, with ALU power roughs at 57lbs. I've got the heavier RDS001MP too but I keep coming back to the RQiS (also dealing with a shoulder issue so a slightly lighter racquet is a good idea.)

Group hug.

Tonight I met my first fellow Yonex user, a Vietnamese woman who was hitting on the court next to my son and I with the Yonex RQ iS 2 Tour. My son noticed it first, when he said, "Hey dad, that woman is using a racquet like yours!" And sure enough, the cosmetics are very similar , with the white and red colors.
But she was hitting much better than me.

Don't you mean - you starting this thread and everyone else keeping it going? Without all of the other posters who've contributed, it would have been nothing more than you talking to yourself. Full marks for starting the thread but its success is due to them, not just you.

Hi guys, i play with Yonex RDS 001 MP. And i string with gosen micro super at 75 pounds. I've been thinking of getting the RDIS 100 MP. When i look at the specs their exactly the same as the RDS 001, how does it compare to eachother? what are the cons and positives?

Check out the comparisons you can do on the TW University -- the RDiS 100MP has a larger sweet spot, for one thing. Significantly larger. But there are other considerations as well: fiddle around with what you can plug in there; it's a fascinating tool.

After playing with Pro Kennex, Prince, Babolat and Wilson, I think I've finally found my brand of choice. Started with the RQiS 1 Tour, which I love. From there I bought a RDiS 100 MP, which I found to be a great racket. Silky smooth when technique is good. Just recently upgraded my RQiS 1 Tour to the RQiS 1 Tour XL 95. That racket is just in my sweet spot and just today there was a good deal at my local shop on the RDS 002 Tour. Haven't hit with it yet, but wanted to know what should I be expecting from that racket? I string my rackets with Gamma Pro 17 at 55lbs.
