Whatever happened to Yuri and Richard?

Richard Williams is in Key Biscayne this week, but he doesn't sit in the box with his ex-wife during their daughter's matches.
I was told about a year ago that Yuri would no longer be traveling with Maria, except on a few rare occasions. Michael Joyce is officially her coach now.

Exactly my point. He is a character. Some people like him, some people don't. But the womens tour needs that. He should just come out and pick a fight with some other pro tour's father. Add some more tension to some of these matches.

Kids grow up, kids want to be independent, kids ask parents not to hang around anymore.
Somehow I'm guessing it's a bit more complicated than that, in both cases. Plus, Mrs. Williams continues to be present a lot, while Richard doesn't seem to do his float around the stadium sitting in different seats thing anymore.

One. She's 14, and if she played tennis, I bet she already wouldn't want me hanging around. But you're somehow suggesting that the explanation for Richard Williams absence is because his near 30 year old daughters suddenly decided after several years that they needed their space from Daddy -- but not their space from mommy?
I'm also guessing the Yuri explanation ain't so simple either.

Sure, I can believe that. But haven't the Williams been divorced for awhile and already established a pattern of sitting separately at these events?
