Who cares? Both are declining. The balance of power has shifted in tennis..
If Nadal wins this match it will be the greatest upset in the history of the Fedal rivalry. Federer leads 4-0 indoors, and is striking the ball with frighteningly reckless gay abandon. If Nadal wins this match it will be the most emphatic victory he's ever had over Federer, given that it is indoors and given that people are declaring Federer the favorite to win this event.
Lol, can you seriously say that you are more looking forward to Murray vs Djokovic as opposed to Federer vs Nadal?!
hmm.. even more than Wimbeldon '08? And anytime Nadal beats Federer regardless of the surface, it will seem predictable from the first point.

Are you kidding me ? I mean, the bull'z-ill and has been barfing and all that but he will be fine come Tuesday. Besides, he is at his absolute peak this year making more finals than ever. I'd say it will be a massive shock if old, washed up, over the hill Fed (who should be in a retirement home rather than a tennis court) steals a set from prime Nadal .
Hmmm, I think not. I doubt any true other Ralph fans will agree with you here. It's a RR match, and both great players already have a win. They can both qualify if they lose the match assuming they go on to win their remaining one.
What your post does tell me is how important it is to YOU that the other Ralph wins...and subsequently how upset you'll be if he doesn't.
I hope you've grown your nails for his one, it's gonna be a biting time

Who is Ralph?
But my post wrote Nadal off, so why would I be upset if Nadal lost? I already said how much of a freak upset it would be

Most people expected Nadal to win Wimbledon 2008. Roger had just been taken to pieces in the French Open final, had barely beaten Nadal in the previous years Wimbledon final, and had won only 1 small tournament all year. It would have felt like an upset if Federer won. The 3 or 4 set win for Nadal it was headed to would have seemed more likely than the epic 5 set win for Nadal it turned into. Many were surprised Federer even made it that close.
Australian Open final 2009? Not sure who was favored for that one.
Are you serious? At 30 years old Federer losing to anyone is not that much of an upset, and people making him favourite doesn't make it really a huge upset. Nadal is 2 in the world and Federer is 4, he may have never lost to Nadal indoors (only 3-0 actually) but he has to sometime. Striking the ball with reckless gay abandon can equal winners OR tons of errors.
The biggest upsets in the Fedal rivalry have been
Miami 2004
Hamburg 2007
Madrid 2009
to a lesser extent
Wimbledon 2008
AO 2009
This wouldn't come close. Whoever wins it won't be an upset.

That's NOT the point. The point is that Fed-Nadal don't hold that much cachet anymore.
Time was when both were the best players on the planet, and their battles for fought for ownership of the tennis world. Now they have been exceeded by Djokovic and Murray even. Djokovic has off course battered Nadal, but also beaten Federer decisively multiple times.
So yeah, there is virtually nothing riding on this match. 2 aging warriors, well past their prime, playing for pride...

I would love to see Rafa beat Fed on this London hardcourt - what an accomplishment that would be! But I have a hard time seeing it happen.
You mean you won't be able to watch the match tomorrow? Well record it or something.
I voted for Fed in 2 more out of hope than anything else. It would be an absolute embarrassment if Nadal lost tomorrow to an 30 year old past prime Fed with fitness and severe movement issues, even if it's on his worst surface.
Hope vote: Fed Wins 2.
Realistic vote: Nadal in 2.
No, I mean I have a hard time picturing it happen! But that's sweet of you.
I will be working, in fact, but I plan to watch the replay on ESPN3 when I get home. I'll just stay away from the news until I see the entire match from scratch.
Vamos to dear Rafa! - but I ain't holding my breath for a win by him over Fed, lol. I'm happy for him winning the Fish match, though, and hope he can at least get to the semi.

Don't you worry...........Rafa will have the chance to rise up again, fresh from strolling the lawns of French Disney, and vanquish his old nemesis and expose Roger's hard on the outside, soft in the inside Lindt game. But le Nadal needs to be careful because Feddie can grow wings and soar again like the seximasterclass that he is, fly so high he can be seen from the living rooms all across the Garden State, including Camden and Nutley. Your hard day at work tomorrow will be rewarded once you get home, if you can escape the Garden State parkway traffic.

This is Fed's event. I can't help but feel like Fed is gonna take it away once again from everyone here, including the much ballyhooed Djoker himself. This surface is not Rafa's surface and he's got DC shortly afterwards...nah.
I'd love to see it but even I am doubtful of a Rafa win over Roger at the WTF.

Madrid wasn't an upset as Nadal was half-dead the next day after his epic SF with Djokovic.
AO'09 on the other hand was a huge upset because few believed Rafa could last against Fed after almost 5-hour battle with Verdasco.
Also, WTF ticket box will never invite you to work with them; I believe this was the first session to sell out once fans knew who would be playing.
*turns slightly envy-green from across the pond*
Yeah I bought tickets on Saturday night figuring I had a great chance of Federer vs Nadal, still a couple of hundred seats left I would guess... as soon as it was announced it was sold out. Might be a stinker of a match, who knows? But it's seeing 2 greats of the game, so I'm pleased I get the chance.
If you are a picture-taking type, please take some to share with us.
You know at least one person will comment relentlessly, LOL.
Trying out the old anti-jinxing I see.
Look, dude,Nadal ain't beating Fed indoors ever. I don't care if Fed was 75 years old. Nadal does not have the game to play well indoors, and has been in awful form. You can rest well, secure in the knowledge that Roger will be walking away with a win tomorrow, and probably getting that win a lot easier than you might imagine.
It's a match up issue, you, I, and everyone else knows it. Sure the court helps negate the spin but honestly it still does damage. Plus, Nadal can play indoors as his results last year at the finals proved it.
The match-up issue is negated on these low bouncing courts. Just as it was last year,it will be again this year.
