S3 - don't get why the i phone 5 has such a small screen - surely in the future consumers will see a greater synergy between the phone and tablets..
S3 has a removable battery so one has the option of a back up - by the way the S3 battery lasts way longer than you would expect for a smart phone.
S3 takes an SD card - which is better no question..

The S3 doesn't feel like a quality product. Samsung stuffed the phone with the best technology available to them, but then opted to make the housing out of cheap plastic. No thanks.
Now that Samsung can't borrow design cues from Apple, I wonder when they'll make a truly beautiful phone to match the fantastic specs they're capable of. Stock Android would be nice too.

I've been using the iPhone 5 now for about 12 hours and so far I am really liking it. Incredibly fast and smooth compared to my old phone. Time will tell if I like it long term, but early returns are good.

i read that originally Apple was working on 4.6 inch retina display but scrapped it. because therer was some kind of software compatibility issue so unless apple solves this, i don't think Iphone 6 won't be that much bigger.

I might give M$ WP8 a chance and go for the Lumia 920. I'm getting an HTC phone at work running ICS anyway. I'm not an @pple fan, so it's Android or the dreaded M$ monster I guess.
My biggest gripe with Android is that there is no real conformity (Android 2.x for both phones and tablets, 3.x only for tablets, 4.x for both), carriers take their sweet time implementing updates, and it's got the Linux blessing/curse of being free but heavily fragmented in how it's marketed and implemented.

It has that plastic feel to it. What i hated though was touchwiz. Horrible looking and unneeded. I picked the lesser of two evils in htc sense. But they both suck imo. It would be much better to run stock android, but if you do that, then you can not update your prl and radios.

Did you mess around with a few launchers? I wonder if the Jeally Bean update will change touchwiz at all.
There are some quite nice covers I think. I've used a CandyShell on the iPhone and it's nice, but was so tough to get off it left tiny scratches on after. The S3 version doesn't do that, luckily.

On my test, iphone 5 was crushed in every respect except in S voice department. Siri was far superior. Iphone 5 screen is so small, it was a joke.

Ive had a bunch of different launchers and roms on the new evo and unfortunately to remove sense or touchwiz, you need to root your phone and go to an aosp rom. When you do that each time you want to update your prl you have to reflash your rom to sense and then reflash back to aosp.
It just is not a convenient solution by any means.

Thats cool..it is a personal preference. I question when you have actually seen or held the iphone 5 though since you keep asking people for pics as recently as yesterday. Is a 4 inch screen really that small? I guess i will find out soon, but i dont think it is.

I think it's the clicks. But I'm sure they do get some 'special access' to AAPL.
I went in the Apple Store - the screen size isn't that much bigger than my 4S - now I'm not so upset AT&T is making me wait. And if enough people in my area switch, my HSPA+ speeds should get even better (and they're very good now).
I installed iOS 6 on my 4S - it is pretty impressive. Everything seems faster. Especially Safari (I'll probably dump Chrome now). Still trying to master the panorama picture option. Siri appears to know MLB, EPL, La Liga - no tennis. For So Cal, I haven't run into any outrageous map blunders. The YouTube app disappears after the upgrade - but you can go back to the App Store and get it.

Aparently it is twice as fast, bigger screen, lte speeds are insane. I am seeing 17mbs up and down in screenshots people post. Have no idea how well that is on the s3, probably close to the same. Would i upgrade from the 4s? Probably not, but coming from another phone i think it is better to get the 5 than the 4s.
I mean you posted reviews and acted excited about the phone for some reason. I guess you are back to being fedace and trolling again?

I personally think it's fine. My last phone was a 3.8" screen, so the move to 4" feels nice. I've held the GS III and personally think it's too big, but to each their own.
So far I love the phone, it is much snappier and smoother than any phone I've owned, and I love the way everything is working so far.

See thats the thing. If I get good grades I will get the iPhone 5 and switch networks. I'm suppose to have a mytouch 4g, but that broke like the 1 week of my contract so i used my moms old blackberry, and that broke last week. So I need a phone for like 3 months.

Can you do that? I always thought once you updated on iOS you couldn't go back. When I used to jailbreak, if you updated before a jailbreak was available you had to wait it out.

Darn, you might be right. I have been trying hard to get it back. Even downloaded the software for iOS 5 again, but itunes has blocked it off.
Damn it. Looks like I am stuck. I will miss the youtube app. Without it, I don't see any incentive to use my Ipad anymore. That thing is utterly useless.
Hopefully iOS6 will grow on me over time for my phone.
I once downgraded from 4 to 3.1.3 on my 3G, using instructions similar to these:

The downgrade worked fine, but I couldn't restore all my data from the version 4 backup. Not a problem, I thought, I have plenty of backups on my NAS. And then discovered that I'd omitted the correct folder from my backup, and had lost everything (Contacts were the biggest issue, though in certain ways it can be very cleansing to throw them all away and only stay on touch with people who call you). This was before iCloud.
You ought to be able to do the same with iOS 6; just make sure you have a backup first!
Have Apple removed the digital signature?

Yeah, if you have the backups still I think it is possible. It sounds like a convoluted way, but it can be done.

Yeah, I downloaded it. It is just not the same. I might as well use Safari for it.
With the other app, you could bookmark your favorites without logging in. Now you can't do anything unless you sign into gmail. Additionally, the old app was very smooth to operate. This new one is a travesty.
