That's pretty funny! Can't believe some folks think that's controversial. (rolls eyes) My favorite of all time was a US ad featuring some cats playing with a tennis ball. The ad ends with a human hand picking up the ball, then you hear "Thwack, thwack" and the cats are moving their heads in time-making it appear that they're watching the players. Very cute!!!!

My favorite tennis commercial. Gives me chills. The it must be love commercial for the US Open. I am so pumped to go this year. Last year was amazing.

I liked the Nike one with Jim Courier in 1992, when he's holding a picture of his young self and saying something along the lines of "There's no way that this young kid will become the number 1 tennis player in the world" and then a smile slowly develops on his face. Courier also did a more famous Nike advert where he's using his racquet like a guitar and running with a tyre tied to his back.

Federer and Tiger have both said that they talk to each other frequently. I remember when Federer won Wimbledon last year, Tiger Woods was ecstatic and declared him the GOAT over twitter.

I don't think they were ever good pals, but I don't Federer stopped talking to him after that media circus in 2009

I believe I remember seeing it on TV. I don't think it was banned. I'm sure they got some flack for it because it is somewhat sacreligious, but that would have been a marketing decision. Most people enjoyed it, but they could play up even the few negative comments they knew they were going to get. Sometimes companies run a controversial commercial to get a lot of buzz going even if not all of it is positive. Nowadays, they don't even have to pay for showing a commercial, just propose it, put it on YouTube, and leak it to the press to generate controversy.
