T Fight 315?

I have the 16m and dont find any perceived lack of control.. has great feel.. im coming from an 18x20 frame that essentially "feels" the same (pt57a) as this tec. If i happened to spray a shot, it was my fault as the majority were not.. i felt like i could get the ball where i wanted it to go and to me thats as much control as i need

They did a great job with this frame.

That is weird.

Don't know what to think about it. Caps could make the frame a beast, or make it really sluggish.

Have also always had mixed feelings on whether it firms up or flexes out frame feel. The feel of the Tec is so good, not sure what this would do to it.

Quick, somebody, go do it and report...

I'm coming from multiple 18x20 sticks (all prestige lineage, PT280) and naturally switching to a 16x19 pattern will require you to adjust your groundstrokes a little bit to accommodate the open string pattern. As someone mentioned earlier in the middle of this thread, it will take a couple of weeks or months to really realize the true advantage of this racquet.

I can say over the past few weeks that I am starting to noticed distinguished difference btw both patterns, and that the open pattern takes less brute strength to generate power and spin, but requires just as much follow through if not more to hit an effective shot.

Agree there. Haven't noticed a huge difference in the patterns enough to truly say A>B yet.. Both lovely feeling and require a full swing for best shot and also best feel.

This seems like a great platform stick if you want to tinker. The only issue, spec wise, is the swingweight, but it's so low that it seems like you can build it up to whatever you want. May have to try and demo it.

You can't get it, but not many grip sizes available in the US. Many of us waiting here also!!!

I had a pt280 without caps and it felt less firm than my capped 57a's. always figured it was due to the caps. I presume the same would happen with this one

hit with my 315 Ltd. last night for the first time..racquet came in at 11.7 oz strung.. my impressions: very nice racquet. reminds me of the blx 98 black gold in some ways, but much more balanced, much more stable.. placement with this racquet was out of control. I had it strung up with nrg because it came free, and i was not crazy about this string the one time i played with it, but the stick hit very nicely for sure. i loved the grip, after playing with the rounded tf 325 for the past year. after an hour (strangely) the lightness of it really started to bother me, so i'll have to weight it up to see how it really works for my game. but first impressions, very positive.

58 unstrung? Very very good! I wich I can get one of those, that racket strung should be around 55~56 RA, just like a dream to me!

A more stable and balanced Blade BLX for a slightly lighter weight? Without the terrible Wilson QC? Interesting... Got to write that racquet on my check list. Hope they aren't too expensive. EDIT: If you compare it with the Blade BLX, it means you have the 18*20 version, haven't you? EDIT2: Ironically enough, the TW playtesters said it needs lead though. I play with 300 unstrung racquets, so 15 more grams would already a big step forward for me. Tried the lead, never swung as fast, so I removed it.

@Lefty78: Thanks for correction. But you know, I'm European, so as far as I'm concerned... :lol:

It really is a dream. Hits so nice for this RA.

NO vibrations. That is what sold me besides the perfect feel and excellent play ability.

Transformed my Tecs into Blade 98s but with more control and epic plush feel.

Dropped leather for a light grip, put 5 grams in the upper half of the hoop with 4 at 2/10ish and 1 at 12. Total weight in the 11.6, 11.7 range with damp, more even balance but frame comes through the contact zone nicely and more direct than before, when I was brushing the ball more. Serving still a work in progress as I'm used to more HL balance here, but groundies feel fantastic.

when you say for ex. 4 gr. at 2 and 10, you mean 1 gr. at 2 and 1 gr. at 10 on one face and same for the other side, right? just curious, i'm new at this.

also, did you or power palyer counterweight at the handle to preserve original balance?

my 315 currently leaded up to 12.2 oz but i haven't hit with it, and it feels a bit heavy (though that is about the weight of my tf 325).

That's correct on lead placement.

No, I didn't counterweight and instead stripped the weight away from the handle by removing leather grip as well as the lead/putty that I'd been experimenting with as well. ... Bottom weighting the stick to balance out lead I had been putting in the hoop ended up bothering my wrist and feeling too sluggish anyway.. Doing the opposite and putting head weight up top and stripping weight off the handle is something I didn't think would work, to be honest, but it actually was the perfect mod for how I personally swing. I have a naturally spinny stroke and beforehand was too wristy, too brushing of the ball. The heavier head weight is bringing the frame through the hit on a more even trajectory, and the result is I'm making better contact on the ball, hitting through it more, and the frame just feels more stable now even though it's a half ounce less than I had it before.

This mod will definitely NOT be for everyone, but for me (and my wrist) it's proving to be much better than before.

Tech 315 grip size? and strings?

I can't resist the intrigue and all the favorable comments of the 315. I got to order one just to see and feel it. I'm leaning towards the 18 mains. However, I'm not sure if I should order the 3 1/4 or 3 3/8. How does the grip size (with the leather grip) compare to others? Does it run big or small? With some racquets (wilson and babolat) I prefer a 1/4, yet with others (prince and dunlop) I prefer a 3/8. With HEAD I'm in between and from previous posts it sounds like the 315 is the same as the HEAD prestige grip.

I always use an overgrip. Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm also wondering about the best string setup? looking for something to help increase the power without loosing too much control or feel. Thinking of going with multi in the mains and poly in the crosses, or just all multi (which is a switch for me as I usually use rpm 18 at a lower tension).

just got my 315 and grip size seems consistent with Prestige series. My 18M was strung with Tonic at 56 and it was nice for serve and volleys, but I thought control was a bit erratic on the groundies. Might be the gut as I normally use full poly. Sweetspot is relatively small, feel is great when proper contact made. I am going to try full 17G co-poly at around 53 to help get some more bite on the ball. Overall, really nice stick.

One thing I would be curious to know is how the weight is distributed. Kinda strange in that swingweight on the scale is a bit low, but really does not swing like a low swingweight racquet. Racquet is not dead in the tip of the hoop, but does not feel IMO polarized either. My 12.5oz Graphene Speed Pro actually feels faster through the air than the 11.8 315 LTD.

Can anyone say what the grip length is like? I tried out the new blade and I found it a bit short for a 2HBH. It's not impossible but not as comfortable as other sticks. It was even shorter than the YT Prestige MP.

Normal grip length. 2HBH friendly.

I hear you on this. The frames don't swing as light as their SW numbers indicate, but the 16m stick definitively swings easier for me.. Even if I try to make them more even with lead placement.

Dropping leather grip and adding weight to the hoop, creating a more even balanced stick, actually made the frame swing a bit more naturally for me.

Longer than the Blade for sure but still not overly long. ... I've had to wrap replacement grip/overgrip up higher to be fully comfy. Have the grips up where the throat begins.

Some posters have asked if anyone could compare the 315ltd 18M to the old (first version) 325.... I have not seen a clear response, could anyone in the know chime in? It seems to me that the two sticks should share a lot in common, apart from the obvious weight difference and 1/2 in length. Do they feel similar and haves imilar flex in play?

I have both the tecnifibre 325 and the new Ltd. 18 mAin
I can say both feel the same. Even the mold is same.
My 325 were professionaly cut Down to 27
325 may feel a little softer due to more weight.

Thanks for the info. I'm really interested in this, but won't be able to demo it.

What's the general feel for customization? Are people just leading up the hoop to increase the swingweight and how much lead are we talking about? How much power is everyone getting out of this racquet eventually (say, compared to a YT Prestige MP, or IG Radical Pro)?

Well I finally bit the bullet and got open pattern one since they had them very cheap at our local tennis store...and it really is like you guys said a very good copy of pro tour 630 (slightly firmer but maybe because its new and my 630s are well used by god knows who.... I decided to demo it first and within 30 minutes of toying around in my back yard agains the wall and serving into my neighbors fence(got they must be pissed) I knew I had to get one simply since this is as close to open pattern pro tour 630 as I am going to get since I refuse to spend more than 200 bucks on any racquet and 16x19 pt57a goes for 400.
You guys were spot on that hits heavier than swing weight that Tt reported. My guess is that my 315ltd sw is at least 315 if not 320... I am going to measure it later.
It came at 340gr 32.4 bal strung with heavy 16 gauge poly( BBo ) and and one over grip.
I added around 10 grams on top of the handle to bring balance closer to 32 cm.

IMHO good racquets have soft top of the hoop at 12 since I tend to hit higher on the stringbed and this one is (just like pt630) butter on top towards the tip. So much so that you can frame it at 12 and no bad vibration or discomfort will come off of this racquet.

Also not sure how others feel but something about this mold/racquet shape I really feel connected to my backhand don't matter if its Dunlop head Wilson or technifibre. It just works for me.

So, these are finally up on TWE. Good god they're expensive. 232 EUR. That's 50 EUR more than the TFight 320. It's actually cheaper to pay the $40 shipping from the US site. Crazy.

Good stuff. Definitely feel more sw than specs indicate.. the 10g at top of the handle is an interesting mod - no lead in hoop?

I'm increasingly leaning to the 16m stick over the 18m in my Tec battle. If per chance anyone would want to trade a 16m for my 18m I might be interested.

Yes, for that price, there's a little button on the bottom. When you press it R-Fed flies over and becomes your doubles partner.

Hopefully it's a mistake because it's crushed my dreams.

We're generally used to paying higher prices here, but this is a pi** take.

^In fact, due to some taxing and parity issues, always consider 179$=179€, even shipped or paid in Europe. Because when you add up the shipping and taxes you have to pay, it almost becomes the same price and the gain is much less important that what would be expected. I know, it's silly, but it's how it is. EDIT²: And that's why when you are in America, you always see greedy Europeans who buy much more than what they can carry.

just tried this again with full poly at 53 (Cyclone Tour). IMO, tons better with full poly, really good spin for a 18X20 and a little pop as well but controlled. To me, this racquet fits somwhere between the very traditional IG Prestige MP and the modern players sticks such as the Rad Pro, PDR and Ext Pro 2.0. Has many of the qualities of a traditional stick, but with a little more pop and a tad lighter than most traditional sticks. Cautiously optimistic this might be a keeper.
