ATTENTION FOR ALL SDL WTF CONTENDERS:

I have set up a new sheet in our Google File which will track the Race Points heading into London to give you all an idea of where you stand and how far you would need to go if you're still in contention for one of the spots. This will be updated LIVE. The information in the sheet has been updated recently and reflects today's results and shows the possible points tally for those left in the Shanghai tournament by week-end.

There are currently 26 SDL players still mathematically in contention for the Top 8 WTF spots.

In the coming weeks, I will continue to update this sheet to reflect results in Vienna, Basel and Paris. As more and more people drop out of contention, the list will be reduced accordingly. You will also be informed when you have officially clinched a Top 8 spot.

@winchestervatennis has officially QUALIFIED for the WTF Top 8 as of Monday 9th October due to kvejkr's opening round exit.

With today's win with Johnson, @Pagoo has officially clinched the second WTF spot. Well done to both!

@winchestervatennis needs to reach the semi-finals this week to confirm the #1 seed for the World Tour Finals.

RACE TO LONDON COUNTDOWN
Far out man. Far effing out.

Now to keep riding the American train this week or pick a frenchman - which one should never do

According to @Krish872007 i can wrap up the top seed at year end championship with one more win. So do i stick to the plan which I believe gives me the best chance at a trophy or go with a "safe" pick for points??? Tough call.

I just remembered Pagoo is still in the tournament and can potentially catch you, so the next move is important
You'll definitely be ahead at the end of this week, just need enough points across the next couple of tournaments to maintain the lead
I don't think anyone else can get there - I would have to win Vienne, Basel and Paris and hope you lose early everywhere

It is tough. I WANT Feder to win, but is he looking as good as he did in Australia, IW, and Miami? Not to mention he still has to get past delpo. Finally, does Nadal look the same as earlier this year?

If Fed is good enough to go past Delpo, he should have enough chance to defeat Nadal. Federer looked shaky against Berdych and Krygios at Miami. Still Fed straight-setted Nadal. Nadal has been playing well since then. Then again he was stopped only by Federer during early half of the season.

There's also the possibility of a walkover tomorrow, so should be very interesting to see these final picks.
yeah that brings up some questions. If we pick fed with nadal as bu and delpo doesnt play we advance with fed rather than going to the bu pick of nadal, right? I assume that would be the default.

But would we have the choice of going to nadal as bu so we can choose a rested fed in the final? If so, I assume we'd have to specifically state that change to the bu?

Yeah if you pick Fed in the semis and he gets a walkover, you go through to the final directly unless you specifically state now that you'd like Nadal to be the main pick if DelPo withdraws (so in effect picking Nadal now).
