adidas Barricade 17 great shoe, Barricade 18 why???

This is a 2017, with just a width change in order to call it 2018 they had to make incremental changes as well... what a waist of brain power!
Shouldn't that then bring the adidas Barricade 2017 with an update of different widths... not that they should have had just the one narrow width to begin with and a stupid idea to name a shoe 2017, obviuosly you'll make a rod for your own back.

Because that's what Adidas does, same with barricade 2015-2016 they just make slight changes, to me the the 2018 seems an improvment over the not so durable upper knit on the 2017 but basically is the same shoe, i think there's gonna be another big change until 2019 and then last until 2021
Right now the standard life cycle for most athletic shoes is 2 years. It costs money to redesign a shoe, so they have to balance cost with marketing. You might see a minor tweak after 1 year but nothing that will make a drastic change in manufacturing.

For me it was the plastic support/guard on the medial midfoot on the 2017 barricade that made the shoe unbearably uncomfortable for me. I once even got a blister on my arch from that plastic, and I was wearing 2 pairs of socks!
I am back to using the 2015/16 barricade boosts.
