Anyone tried Babolat Pure Storm Ltd. Racquets ??

I demoed one a few weeks ago. I figured I'd like it, as it's identical mold-wise to my FXP Prestiges.

I wasn't a fan. It felt slightly gutless compared to my Prestiges - I really had to lay into the ball to get good pace and depth. With a multi at mid tension, it may be a good touch racquet, but I felt that it lacked considerable pop.

limited is a marketing ploy.

i've heard that it plays oldskool, so it may not compare to your prestige if you have an updated version. but if you have an older version, it may play similar.

ICIC ... thx a lot .Brother

Much more flexy feel, IMHO, than most other racquet releases this year, but with a relaxed swing and nice, lively multi, I got great pop on serves and groundstrokes. Really, really nice action/spin as well.

decent control racket, but like previous possters have said there is very little pop. This racket is also very light and demands that you customize it to unlock it's potential. It is too unstable in stock form to hold up against heavy hitters. I could see it being great for a junior level player who isn't playing against big hitters yet. I would recommend it to people that are interested in the k6.1 light or people who like to lead up their rackets.

I completely disagree with this post. First it is almost 12 oz, and with an overgrip, depending on the brand, you are probably at 12 oz, and although it is headlight, the LTD isn't a junior racquet, any more than any other 12 oz racquet would be a junior racquet.

I am not sure how much you played with the LTD, but it is one of the most solid and stable racquets at that weight that I have hit with. Trust me, this racquet can handle considerable pace without issue and certainly as much pace as 99.9% of the posters on this forum will ever see in a match.

I agree it is a flexible racquet and lacks the same pop and power that stiffer and similar weight racquets have, but it is designed to be a control racquet. For those that can generate their own power and are looking for more control in the ground game, this racquet is certainly worth a look.

I demoed it earlier this year and loved it. I've been waiting for this stick to debut ever since the old pure control was discontinued. I don't miss a single forehand in an hour with this stick. I agree with the previous posts that it was definitely stable enough for big hitters, yet it was also incredibly solid at net. I also agree that the Pure Storm LTD also serves as a great platform for customization. Babolat finally gave us a REAL player's frame.

I demoed it a while back and found it to be extremely low powered. Two reasons I can think of to explain the lack of pop are that the frame is very headlight with a light swingweight, and the stringjob in my demo felt very tight. Maybe I would have judged it differently had I strung it to my specifications and added lead tape to the head.

I demoed the Pro Storm Tour as well, and found it to offer a well balanced and comfortable ride.

Just curious... anyone played with both the PS LTD and the PT280/630?... how do they compare?

Ross,
I own both a PS LTD and a PT280 (Made in Austria) and very much like them both.

I would say the PT280 has a more solid feel when connecting with the sweet spot, (dare I say boardy - I mean that in the nicest way though :) ) while the PS LTD seems to me to be a bit more flexible. I feel as though I can swing away more so with the LTD than the 280.

The 280 is a bit heavier and the spin potential not quite on par with the LTD. I have found the LTD to be very good at generating spin.

I do not seem to have that much trouble generating power with either stick.

Just my 2 cents...others may feel different.
