Those still caps seem to be carefully and painstakingly chosen to maximize the resemblance, it is a great job, but in real life the motions tell a different story, they are not so much alike.

Back to the match, Nadal's FH is in tiptop shape, BH seems to be a tossup and today it was tails. Grigor is fine as long as his 1st serve goes in, but Rafa isn't giving anything away during the rallies and is moving him around the court like a ragdoll.

With Nadal's victory, the quarterfinals are set.

[1]Novak Djokovic vs John Isner

[Q]Dmitry Tursunov vs [7]Juan Martin Del Potro

[5]Roger Federer vs [4]Rafael Nadal

[6]Tomas Berdych vs [2]Andy Murray

DelPo is on a mission to tire Djokovic out before the final. Anyone who beats Del Potro in semi-finals in a long, grueling match, necessarily loses the next one.

Poor Djoko. I want him to get the 9 masters but his 2013 form has been shaky. Lost to Delpo in IW, almost lost to him in W. I'm worried about him making the Cincy final this year. I think we could end up with an IW redux. (Which is fine by me since I also want Rafa to get the triple AND be seeded #2 at USO).
Actually, the similarity to IW is troubling. Think about it. Rafa gets Fed in quarter, he could get Berd in semi and then Delpo in final. Copycat!

If he doesn't win titis year, he still ha chances. No one has had an easier Cincey draw this year than Novak. At his point it all depends on DelPo.

Disagree. Delpo's draw is easier. One cannot underestimate Isner in those fast US events. (As a matter of fact, Isner has won Washington this year, hasn't he?)

This is what I was thinking earlier. People were saying Murray had an easy draw....

Djokovic's first three opponents: Monaco, Goffin, Isner

Murray's first three opponents: Youzhny, Benneteau, Berdych

Nope, I was there. DelPo beat Isner in 3. DelPo had to play 2 matches in 1 day, while Isner coasted through on a normal schedule.

DelPo was so much better than Isner starting at then end of the first set. DelPo hits much harder than Isner.

Also, if Nadal wins this, he'll be number two in the world despite missing points from two of the four slams, two Masters, the WTF, and whatever other fall events he would play. That's insane. Djokovic really needs to watch out - in a few months, I think that number one ranking will be Nadal's. Hell, maybe a few weeks if he wins the U.S. Open (although I don't think he will).

I know doubles barely gets talked about around these parts, but for anyone who cares:

The Bryans are gunning for their 4th Masters 1000 title of the year and 5th final of the year. They just defeated the American wild cards James Blake and Steve Johnson and will face Mexican Santiago Gonzalez and fellow American Scott Lipsky in the semis.

I've been following doubles a lot more lately, mostly because of the killer year the Bryans are having.

I care about doubles, actually. You never see any mixed doubles threads here.

Good for the Bryans. They have been dominant this year. It would be neat if any of the Top 10 players would play doubles in the US Open on the 26th.

Again, for anyone interested in doubles:

The final will be contested between the #1 seeded Bryan brothers and the #2 seeded Granollers and Lopez.

I like the Bryan brothers to take home their 4th Masters 1000 title of the year and 10th title overall of the year.
