Roy Mustang is an anime/manga character, not a video game character so he don't count

Where are you getting all these emotes? Reminds me of a guy who used to post them all the time during live match threads. They're hilarious.

Max Payne 1, at the time it was like nothing I've played before. Simply blew my mind, specially in terms of environmental details.

Red Dead Redemption 1 was superb.

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 is the GOAT for me, it's still very fun even in 2019.

Bioshock 1 is legendary as well.

And Doom 2016 is the best FPS I've played in a very long time.

As a kid I became addicted to Unreal Tournament.
I forgot Grand Theft Auto, a couple of old ones. Liberty City and Vice City. Highly addictive to act like a jerk without any consequences either legal or moral and without actually hurting any real person. @dgold44 just reminded me of this.

Incredible game. I love that Vaas is an actor in Better Call Saul (Nacho).

Also @-NN- @Sephiroth @Poisoned Slice the replay has begun. Told myself I'd play an hour last night. It turned into 7.

Final Fantasy does that to you.

I remember playing Final Fantasy XII I think on the PS2 and just grinding and grinding to level up, so many beautiful hours of my life gone but well worth it

Playing Zelda link between worlds and it’s superb

The many characters you meet are so cute and charming
The dungeons are old school

This game is one of the best in a kid friendly manner

I thought Evil Within 2 was way better than 1
Curious why you like 1 more
Great list though I’ve wanted to play Dishonored and Borderlands 2 for awhile

Yes I’ve beaten it a couple of times
It’s great

I caught a chicken and used him as a parachute to fall into an underground well to get a heart piece
It’s becoming my fav

My last Zelda game was the original and I have OOT next month
That grave digger and every character I meet just cracks me up

I’ll agree that it’s a better overall game. The crafting and gel system is better, the controls are cleaner, the story progression is better, and I did love the artist (first villian with the camera forget his name). The lead up to fighting him in the theater was perfectly done and the boss fight was great. I hated the motivational speaker dude that whole arc was annoying. The end arc with his wife was well done and I loved the ending, it fits Sebastian’s character perfectly.

I like 1 better because it’s a better horror game. They took a lot of the horror out of the second one to make it more appealing to more people. I also like the level design better in the first. It did start off slow like I think the first 5 chapters are pretty boring. But once you get in the asylum it gets good. 7-13 were great. The last two were meh and more of a battle royal than stealth horror.

I guess my biggest issue is the lack of horror in 2 and the meh enemy design. I liked the monsters especially the bosses and the constant suspense of not knowing what you were gonna find moving around the cramped asylum in 1. 2 got rid of a lot of that. There’s no Ruvik randomly popping up out of nowhere chasing you. No dark long corridors filled with invisible monsters or giant boss monsters. There’s only that weird ghost lady that transports you to beacon and you have to guess which way is out. And she’s never explained iirc she’s just there lol.

Dishonored and Borderlands are great. Dishonored is a little dated but still playable. 1 is way better than 2. BL2 is so worth it. I’ve played the campaign and DLC with every character build I think I have over 150 hours on that game

I'm not much a gamer... but it has to be Metal Gear Solid on PS1. It was so great, had the drama, had the score, the plot was like a movie. I actually bought the PS classic for $30 the other day and before I hack it, I'm gonna give MGS a go. And then I'll let it collect dust... as is the end result of every game and system I buy. I have PS4 that I haven't played in literally 2 years and a Switch that only gets dusted off when my cousin's kids come over.

Yeah I see we’re you’re coming from
I usually don’t care that much if a game is scary or not as long as it’s fun which is why that didn’t bother me that much in 2
I think the first evil within definitely had better bosses
Pretty much all of them were pretty great especially the keeper, Laura and the garage one while I hardly remember any of them in 2 (final boss in 2 was great though)
I just got a pc and I’m planning on playing diablo 2 and borderlands with some friends soon so that’s gonna be great
I’ll also get around to dishonored eventually

Jeez I couldn't pick. So many. Threshold on the Commodore. Could never get a million points. If you did your score went back to 0. Got so many extra lives I crashed the game once. Totally awesome. On consoles I loved Contra, Zelda, Link, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, GoldenEye. On computer who can forget Duke Nukem 3d? Also enjoyed Rise of the Triad, Crusader: No Remorse and Crusader: No Regret. Those had cut scenes with actors. I think my brother played Wing Commander, that had Biff in there, I think Malcolm McDowell as well. Really awesome for the time. Now it's just all computer stuff. I also enjoyed Max Payne and Max Payne 2. Gauntlet on the PS2. Just fun times. I'm sure there's a lot more, but I got CRS real bad..I think.

Edit: How could I forget Diablo or Diablo 2? Loved the expansion packs and the 'hack' for the Hellfire one for Diablo. 2 extra characters and a cow quest. Just so much imagination in games back then. Now it all seems to be about graphics and body count.

My last Zelda games was original and this game is 100 times better !!!

Next when I finish I have OOT

Not sure how I will like that game but I am playing it next month
OOT was the first Zelda game I played
I wasn’t that big of a fan of OOT tbh
Prob one of my least favorite 3d Zeldas
I thought majoras mask was much better but OOT is still a solid game

A lot of developers are afraid to be creative or try outside the box ideas because the games need to make money.

Diablo series is classic. I've gone back to Diablo 2 countless times. Last year I actually finished hell difficulty with a hardcore character (single player). That was a lot of fun, but I got lucky with some drops. I was running an javazon and got stuff like a shako in hell act 2 which was a godsend. I didn't get titan's revenge until after clearing Baal, but I got lucky with an ethereal demon's arch drop. That weapon actually allowed me to clear the game. Didn't even need infinity on my merc after picking that up.

I think too many of the PSX and PC games aren't getting enough love here, but it's whatever. But I also think that the N64 games are overrated, and overall the PSX had a much better library of games.

Oh yes, great topic!

For me, it has always been Metroid Prime. It is so immersive, no game has immersed me that much before. Everything in it is catered to that perfectly with the visual effects, ambient soundtrack and the feeling of solitude.

I don't think there is really a better way they could have made Metroid into 3D. Even some of the few issues people do seem to have are basically just design choices you either like or dislike (mostly the backtracking, which is inherent to Metroid's world and gameplay design). Also, early GameCube title playing at a perfect 60FPS and controls like butter as well imo. Just love it!

Another all-time favorite is certainly Diablo 2 and its expansion Lord of Destruction. Man, I've played that so much. I could still boot it up now and just play for a few hours. Also played through hell multiple times with a friend since he moved to Poland to live and work there, which was a great way to stay in touch with him.

Of course there are tons of other awesome games, but I'll keep it at this for now.
