Caster Wheels for Eagnas PLus 6500?

Instead of casters I bought a set of furniture movers and just slipped the cloth part of each one over the feet of the stringer. I have hardwood floors and can move it around easily from room to room. I'm sure casters work good too but I was concerned with the machine moving around while stringing. (Plus the furniture movers were cheaper.)

For my Eagnas Plus 6500 I bought casters from McMaster-Carr.

The exact ones I purchased are 4 Twin-Wheel Caster with Hood, & Brake, 2" Nylon Wheels, 5/16"-18" Threaded Stem. Fits like a charm.

Cost me about 13 bucks with shipping.

Just call Eagnas customer service and I'm sure they will spend whatever time it takes to help you out .... or maybe not :)

sorry I know this doesn't help you but I couldn't resist :(

Take a measurement off the existing footings on the Eagnas. They screw out. If you want a perfect fit, you can send one to the caster company and they will send you the proper size casters. Great Lakes customer service suggested I do that after I ordered the wrong size (the diameter of the stem was a little too small. I used something as a filler and made it work. )

Much easier to have the machine of wheels (get that ones that lock) than having to drag the damn thing around when I wanted to move it. On upright stringers, locking wheels should be standard equipment IMHO.

I wish I had bought the locking caster wheels. It is fine on carpet but on tile/wood flooring it is a pain.

^They are cheap. Replace them. The locks are great.

This is what I purchased from Great Lakes four years ago.

Unit Price: $1.10
They are black nylon or ABS. Hooded and have locks.

The stems proved to be a little too narrow (1/2" diameter). Apparently, I should have ordered the next size up in diameter (5/16"), 1/2" length.

I may do that. I also ordered the wrong size initially, kinda funny.

I actually order the caster wheel from Eagnas back in last December and they still don't have them in stock yet. I am going to ask them to cancel my order and get it from suggestion here.

I got some nice urethane rollerblade wheel type casters at Harbor Freight and although they DO NOT have brakes on them I rarely have much problem with that. If the machine wants to move abit (and it does at times) I just step on one leg with my toe. I'd prefer brakes, but no big deal.

that's the one - I was shocked how cheap they were!!

What's the exact product #? I took one of the base off and went to OSH. They measured it and it's a M8-1.25(metric). OSH doesn't have any metric caster wheel. So I call Great Lake and they also said they don't carry metric caster wheels.

Sorry I can't remember. I went to the biggest hardware store saw the 5/16 product. Pretty generic style castor wheel with a brake.

My base had some little pads which I unscrewed and took one in to compare.

It ended up being pretty easy to pick out.

Add the az onto the $'s ok :)

I'd be surprised if that's not the same one I have, can some others confirm.

If you want to get it right the first time, I would send one of the footings to Great Lakes and let them tell you the proper size. Email them, they are pretty helpful.

I'm guessing 5/16" diameter, 1/2" stem length. I bought 1/4" diameter and they were small on my Eagnas upright crank machine. They also have different thread sizes to complicate it even more. I think 18 is the right thread. I would recommend the hooded nylon wheels with the locks.

I know the size. It's M8-1.25 with 3/4"( or 2cm) stem length. I asked Great Lake if they have that and the person on phone said they don't carry metric caster wheel.

I am more uncertain about the 1.25mm pitch instead of the diameter. It's not disclose here but since it's only $6.44, I am willing to take a chance and will report back once I receive them. Thanks for all the info.

Caster wheels are here. The diameter is correct. However, the pitch of the screw is not which I already suspected that. I use a ranch to brute force the bolt to screw into stand. I think they will stay fine for $13.
