Well i don`t see any way Monfils would win if he looses first set and with not a lot in the tank.Winning first set will be key for Monfils for his confidence so it will be competitive.

I would have said it could have been dangerous for fed but since he's just played a 4 hours plus match and looked very tired the day before its hard to say anything other than straights to Fed the way he's playing atm, but perhaps the French crowd can get him up for it, but they like Fed a lot and tend not be against him, plus i think Fed will be out for revenge after losing in Paris whilst having mp's. Fed in straights

Federer for sure. Monfils was nowhere near consistent enough against Ferrer to trouble an in form Federer. 3 sets.

actually very good intro for Federer.. he should use his opportunity to try and drill some ideas on the court since Monfils is moving as well as Djokovic side to side.. if he can do that comfortably all he needs to do is serve well and be lucky at times..

obviously the usual problem is, everybody is in good shape and they feel great until they face Djokovic..

however, I'm not doubting Federer nor Nadal for one second.. since those guys can legitimately try and do something about it..

Federer should just run him around. I can't see Monfils beating Federer in a Best Of 5, especially given his style of play.

Monfils' biggest hope is he has a huge serving day, like he did in Paris last year (especially in the first set, when his first serve % was 80-90).

Win Win situation for French crowd. They dont mind if Monfy goes out at all, he has done his mission already. I am pretty sure Rodge preferred Monfy over Ferrer. Monfy can deplete faster than Ferrer, if Ferrer ever does.
