Nadal to begin practicing next week
    Matt Cronin
    Thursday, November 15, 2012

Rafael Nadal will begin practicing next week after being off the tour since June 28 due to knee injuries. Nadal’s uncle and coach Toni told DPA that his nephew will spend this weekend watching the Davis Cup final from home, and then get back on court.

“Things are going well. But the doctor said we had to strengthen the tendon, and there we are,” said Toni Nadal. “What matters is that the tendon is at full strength.”

There are still plans for Nadal to return at the Abu Dhabi exhibition and the end of this year, and then play in Doha at the start of 2013 before heading to Australia.

Until he is actually practicing,I won't believe it. They have given a number of different dates for him to start practicing again and none of them have come to fruition. They're all full of it otherwise.

What did I say that wasn't true? Have they or have they not given many different return dates yet none of them have actually happened? I was only stating the facts.

I am also not the only one in this thread that is skeptical of his return. Hilarious that you get so upset about my stating the truth.

Okay, I request you to hold it all in until the Australian Open. You're beginning to depress me. If Nadal doesn't play that one, or if he goes back home in the first or second rounds, then, by all means, continue with your pessimism and constant attacks.

Isn't it quite weird that Nadal has been posting photos of him in training on facebook just a couple of days ago? I think he, or whoever does the dirty work for him on fb, uploads a pic every day. And now Toni comes up with this.

    I mean, come on...

Why? Because you can't hack the truth? That's your problem not mine.

And since when did you become a Nadal fan anyway? Why do you even care?

Tendon has remarkable similarities to charging your phone battery, haven't you noticed?

    1. January 2013 Nadal's tendons will supposedly be fully charged/at full strength.

    2. The season of 80% hardcourts, Djokovic/Murray 5 hour matches kicks in

    3. November 2013 his tendons will be at 0% strength

    4. Commence skipping half of 2014 to recharge tendons till full strength.

    5. Repeat, starting at Number 1.

Nadal can no longer hurt Federer at Slams the way he used to. Federer is just not as big a contender anymore to be hurt so much by Slam-losses to Nadal.

As they like to say around here, Post it or it isn't true. I don't think you're right. They haven't given a specific date for his return to practice until now.

Yes they have. More than once. A few of them were from Toni and then one from David Nadal. None of them were right and he is still not practicing. This article is no more legitimate than the tweets I read from David Nadal,or the other quotes I read from Toni saying he was coming back. I won't believe it till I see it.

Clarky, there's no way in the world you're a Nadal fan. I've been following these boards pretty closely for the last year and a half, and I have never, ever, seen you write anything positive about Nadal. I don't know how in the world you would think anyone would think you're a Nadal fan. When you're not whining about him being a money-grubbing who*&, you're constantly going on about how Nadal should quit tennis, how he has lost all his passion, how he will never beat Djokovic again, how he will never win anything again, how he and his camp are consummate bullsh*&ers that play with his fanbase, and on and on.

If you were even remotely a fan, you would have written something after he beat Djokovic in MC, or Rome, or RG, something like, Wow, glad I was wrong. He's not the worst player in the world. I was actually waiting for you to write something like that. I didn't happen. You're silent when he wins, even momentous wins like RG, and when things aren't going well, you're the first person to pile on with something negative.

Whatever. I'm not a big enough **** for your liking so you think you get to decide who's a fan and who isn't. You may worship at the alter of Nadal, but I do not.

And if you were reading these boards for the past year and half you would have seen my posts admitting that I was wrong when Nadal beat his Master in MC,RG,etc... And you would have seen me give him credit for trying in the final at the AO,and give him credit for the way he played against Berdych at the AO in the last 2 sets. Maybe your eagle eye is broken,Winston.

Clarky depresses everyone. She has one rhetorical bow in her quiver: bash Nadal. And then weirdly, paradoxically, complain when other people bash him and write that there is some sort of double standard being applied to Nadal.

Perfect. Just in time to be ready for AO! I'm looking forward to the first video of his practice. I'll open a bottle of wine to celebrate. It will have been a bit less than 5 months off the court (June 28 or something to November 19) but it seemed like an eternity for us fans.

You're right WinstonPlum. At least a date has been given and they have said Rafa will have a racquet! :). Oh boy, I hope this week coming answers my prayers and that Rafa will be back on court at last! I have missed him playing so much. Just to have the pictures and video of Rafa back playing tennis! I can't wait! Especially since it has been a stressy week of work. Rafa brightens up my world :). This week better be the week!

Okay, that's a start. I must have missed those comments that you made about MC, RG, etc. I stand corrected. I wouldn't call Novak his master, though. Yes, he did have a great run against Nadal, but wasn't it exciting as a Nadal fan, not a ****, but as a fan, to see Nadal exact some revenge in 2012. Although it wasn't the best tennis Nadal has played, it was great to see him reel off three in a row. And I agree, the match against Berdych was his best match of 2012.

I agree with you that he's lost some of his passion, but don't you ever think you're being too negative by half by acting like he's absolutely miserable out there. Besides the debacles in Madrid and Wimb, he had a pretty good year, even by his standards.

To kragster: I can't root against Rafa, sorry  (it doesn't matter what event) I support Djoko vs anyone else though. I want as many Djoko/Rafa finals as possible. I support Rafa in the finals but I'm happy for Djoko if he wins, so it's a win-win situation for me!

According to Toni, Nadal was supposed to be fit by the olympics, then by the USO and then by the WTF and then Davis Cup. I dont believe a word of his until I see pics but hopefully for Rafa he starts practice soon
