Gut with the most "Bite"

Hi,

I am using Global Gut on mains and MSV Hex On crosses. Just wondering if anyone knows a replacement for Global Gut that will enable me to increase spin on my shots as I am pretty happy with MSV Hex already.

if youre looking for spin. the full vs feels very crisp, but if you do vs mains with lux alu crosses youll hit crazy topspin.

Yea of course I am willing to shell out more money as compared to GG. But among BDE / Klip / Pacific which one do you think has more bite? VS is a lil too expensive for me.

VS ruined all other guts for me. Nothing comes close to VS.

TW has this description for Klip Armour Pro:
"Unlike any gut you've used before, Klip's Armour Pro features a special coating. The white coating on Armour Pro provides a firmer response than one would expect from natural gut. Our playtesters have likened this string to playing with a poly/gut hybrid due to its excellent control, durability and ball pocketing qualities. Thanks to the coating, Armour Pro is the easiest natural gut we've strung. Players familiar with the feel of natural gut should string this string at 2-3lbs less than regular tension to get a similar power level."

I happen to like it, and think that it is maybe a little stiffer than Babolat or Pacific. It definitely is an exageration to say alone it plays like a poly/gut hybrid. But when strung tight, it gives reasonable control and spin. I like it best in a hybrid with BB Alu Rough.

Put MSV as mains and GG as crosses and you'll get tons of spin...

i fully agree with this. u'll experience more of the characteristics of the main string. imo, when stringing as a hybrid u get 70% of the main string characteristics and 30% of the cross string.

putting msv in the mains will give u more spin and control, but u'll still retain comfort from having the gut in the crosses.

Klip is crisper then VS anyway. With VS I would crank the tension up and then Id have a stiffer stingbed which gave me more bite, but Klip is a stiffer string to begin with.

Never tryed the others sorry. Im trying GG for the first time this week.

Ok, I am looking for a gut with thin gauge, 17 and above. Need one that is flexible and decent power. No VS gut cos it is extremely expensive, any other recommendations?
