How can Sinner become more popular?

Edberg did OK and he was not exactly bubbling over with charisma. Not everyone can be as charismatic as Lendl

.
indeed. i think lendl stayed pretty true to himself...and at the end of the day there were plenty of lendl fans, hardly a forgotten figure. got kinda a raw deal though, coming from the eastern bloc during that era (although what's more american than getting the heck out of there and coming here?)

as for edberg, he didn't need to say a word...he had the looks and such a silky-smooth game, an easy idea for fans to get behind.

Sinner is who is. He ain't Kyrgios, he ain't Oscar Wilde and he ain't Brad Pitt. But he also ain't trying to construct some artificial persona for the media. Sure, he'll take Gucci's millions and awkwardly walk on court carrying their handbags. But he could care less. Mainly, he's a worker and a learner who strives to be the best that he can be at what he does, which is playing tennis. But he's also improving his Italian and his English. His interviews will probably get a bit more interestingas he matures, but he'll never be the "cool" guy. And if he never becomes the type to "go viral" with his sound bites, I'm sure he'll be happy about it.

The popularity of tennis in general is decreasing at light speed, sadly for Sinner. But it's not his fault. The majority of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, the 3 biggest fandoms are losing interest. These people grew up watching the Big-3 and unless they were already die hard tennis fans in the 1980s/1990s or teenagers who's just starting to watch tennis, they are getting bored and dropping like flies. Most Federer fans are already gone, Djokovic's and Nadal's will follow soon. I think Sinner is popular right now, actually. The comments he gets are widely positive. But it's mainly because millions of fans of the Big-3 tuned out and the only remaining viewers are forced to pick a side between the young players. Sinner and Alcaraz are dominating right now so the newest fans have to choose between them. If Sinner becomes number 1 and starts winning more Grand Slams than Alcaraz, then he'll be more popular, that's not more complicated. But make no mistake, they will likely never have 10% of the fandom of the Big-3. 2000s and 2010s was the golden era, you will never see anything similar again.

Jannik Sinner needs to sport a huge Mohawk that’s bright orange in color. And then, if he enters the court vaping dandelion oil with tattoos all over his face, then he would be a huge hit.

Seriously though, if he keeps winning, he will continue to draw more fans along the way. That is all that he needs to do. He’s a nice enough guy. More wins= more popularity.

Sinner will only make news when he passes away...
When he's alive, he won't be appreciated, because he brings nothing special to tennis.
And winning ONE slam title, and relying on the worst performance of Djokovic's career, and Medvedev being fatigued by 6hrs, is nothing impressive.

If you showed 100 people in Times Square a picture of Jannik Sinner, 0 people would recognize him.

Same in the Indian subcontinent as well, I doubt if there are even 10,000 people in India who know Sinner. Maybe 1000 would be the total count in a country of 1.4 billion people.

Compared to that Roger Federer was such a famous man.... at his pomp everyone knew him by his face, even now people know him by his face that he is a famous tennis player..... that is the reach of Federer.

Future generations will struggle to reach the levels touched by Federer in non tennis nations... worldwide stardom

Some people just don't have any real problems to deal with.

The player I like swears, fakes MT's, yells at his mom and coach, spits on indoor courts, has verbal fights with the umpire, wants a new coach every time he gets angry and fakes injuries when he doesn't want to play anymore.

I could do with boring for a time. Just a nice cup of tea and some relaxing. Not to worry about what the kid is up to next...

Player you support is not half as good as Sinner lol

He needs to back off on the fist clench and glare after every point.

Also when he signs stuff after a match he needs to interact a tiny bit more with kids who are fans. He does the zombie eyed dead fish look and scribbles his initials.

That goes for every player in any sport who is doing that manufactured special gift of a racquet or shoes/shirt to a particular fan. It always looks so forced.

And his few fans wonder why Sinner is not popular lol

Sinner is more popular than your boy and will become more popular when he wins more meanwhile your boy keeps yelling at his momma while making first round exits at slam. Nike will change his style and then he will be most popular active tennis player.

You're absolutely delusional. Nike can't fix his boring game.

Djokovic has a beautiful and elegant game and he's a master of entertainment compared to Sinner.

Why do you think the threat is called something as idiotic as "how to make Sinner more popular"?

If you want to play it rough people who like other players can also play that game. We try to protect your ego's but the fact is Sinner is a tennis killer. Nobody want's to watch the tennis he plays.

Lmao At Djokovic having a beautiful game. Have you watched Sinner's FH? He hits beautiful FH when he blasts it inside out. Anyway, you find defensive tennis beautiful lol then all power to you son.

I am not a Djokovic fan and I can tell you for a fact that Djokovic has a beautiful and elegant game and is a master of entertainment compared to Sinner.

Adriano Panatta gave Sinner the best compliment. He's next level. He's a ball machine.

Murray is retiring this year. So is Nadal.

Sinner is most likely going to be most accomplished active player post Djokovic by the end of the year. If not second then third post Djokovic and Raz.

Yeah so elegant that he had only 36 winners on freaking grass in 5 sets against Carlos ffs . Sinner hits many winners and his FH is beautiful and he plays agressive tennis. Ffs he's not a defensive bot like Djokovic and play agressive brand of tennis.

People are confusing arrogance and bad behavior with charisma. Sinner is just fine and he is correct to focus on his game right now, as without that everything else would feel empty. Other nuances of interesting interviews and off court stuff will cone with time. Fedal weren't as polished at the beginning either.

I think Sinner and Alcaraz both end with 3 slams this year.

I agree with that but it's deeper i think.
He just doesn't have charisma. He isn't sexy, he looks like Jack Skellington, his game is superbly executed - but unexciting.
He seems like a really nice chap, but in life 'nice' sometimes doesn't win fans. When they have those tennis legends line ups, McEnroe always gets one of the biggest cheers, love him or hate him, you can't be indifferent to him.

He knows how to smile and make at least minimal eye contact.

Granted he had lost a doubles match when I saw him after a match but he looked about as engaged as a postal worker delivering mail. To a mailbox.

Probably nothing other than let his game to the talking. Charisma is something you either have or you don’t. He doesn’t have it. He wasn’t blessed with good looks either. So just dominate. It’s fine. Not everyone is going to be prom king. But you can still be GOAT.

Pete didn’t have charisma either as he was an introvert but decades later people still marvel at his play and he’s still one of the best to ever put on a pair of tennis shoes. Sinner is basically a more modern version of Pete. Not the same game but similar personalities. A few close friends but an introvert who’s focused
But Pete was a lot cuter than sinner lol. Plus he didn’t have scrawny legs like sinner

Sinner can be more popular if Italians are fan of his. Unfortunately he's not a real Italian...
You haven't been to Italy lately, have you?

He's arguably already the biggest star in the country's history... ads everywhere, most searched term on google, ad-libbed a speech in front of the President of the Republic, turned down the Festival di Sanremo, tennis club memberships skyrocketing throughout the country, even tennis-related searches on pornhub are up 300%... Heck, he made the untouchable demi-gods of the soccer national team look like a bunch of 15-year-old schoolgirls at a Beatles concerts, when he finally agreed to meet them. These days, you can't turn your head without SINNERMANIA hitting you in the face.

I've had more than one Italian tell me he's not a real Italian. Surely you know what I'm talking about.
He's from South Tyrol. It ain't Sicily, but it's Italy. Besides, I haven't seen the Austrian chancellor shut down Vienna and cancel all commitments in preparation for his arrival...

here he is... funny to my eyes, cringey/creepy to some others.
She's Laura Pausini, celebrating 30 years of career, 4 grammy in music, worldwide concerts star. Million of discographic sales. She's proudly married and happy mother of a child... in case you were wondering like me

She was being a bit cougarish I guess???

In any case she is 27 years elder to him....

Maybe smile more on court - seems to endear Alcaraz to his fans.
Remember the words of Lendl when Donald Dell was his business manager with ProServ. Dell said he could get Lendl millions of dollars more in endorsements if he would just smile more when he was on the court. Lendl said "it's not worth it."

People of Italy are among the most fickle on the planet. Country has had 69 governments since the end of WW2, and average of a new government every 1.1 years. They'll get tired of him too.
