Janowicz handshake vs Hamou

Hostile and aggressive on Hamou's part. The dude yanked Janowicz arm like he wanted to separate his shoulder. He should be fined and suspended.

Agree. But Janowicz practically punched his hand with that violent swing to the handshake.

I read that Hamou hit a body-serve towards Janowicz. J got angry, and requested H to apologize, H didn't reply. H later said "he had plenty of time to avoid it".

In my opinion J is a jerk.

I don't understand the problem players seem to have with the ball being hit at them. If you're lying on the ground near the net and your opponent hits an overhead straight at you at maximum speed, I get it. In just about any other situation, hitting the ball straight at your opponent is a perfectly legitimate (and often effective) shot.

Seriously? Very poor from Janowicz if that is true, what a baby...

What is the big deal about the body serve? It's perfectly fair and smart tactics.

Remember Roddick fired that body serve at Santoro at US Open a few years ago on match point which caused controversy. Apparently Roddick did it as retaliation against Fabrice for his faking cramps vs. Blake at the previous years' US Open classic five setter.

Body serves are perfectly fair and returners of serve just have to deal with it.

Any idea? No matter what bodyshot or not, I think Janowicz was not supposed to lose his temper.

Man,,, Janowicz Won. so what is his Problem ?????? If you hit That many Dropshots, you are asking for a bodyshot. you are going to have some of the passing shot hit right at you, ,,,it is just the way it is.

If you don't want bodyshots,,,, Don't Drop shot...................

except none of the above actually happened. What did happen was:
Janowicz served out. The ball was called out. So the point is over (or to be clear not started yet).
Hamou returned this out ball full force toward Janowicz. Sure, it is from baseline to baseline so one could argue there's enough time for Janowicz to move so he is not hit. If you are looking that is. Because if you are a server and you are getting ready to hit a second serve I'm not sure you are expecting a ball coming back at you.

Funny how nobody even knows what happened and everybody starts criticizing Hamou for something they made up on their own:wink:

I agree. Janowicz is known for his antics and attitude on court. He won and didn't need to attempt to intimidate Hamou like that--Good for Hamou for standing up to Janowicz
