Kohlschreiber outs Federer: "Not converting match points is absolutely bad"

He's right. It destroyed Fed's legacy and every one else on the tour is too scared to admit it. Funny how all the chicken littles in this thread use it as an opportunity to pile on the one honest guy on the tour.

Even if he had won, he'd still only be 2 ahead of Nadal at the moment. Not sure it "destroyed" Fed's legacy. It was a tough loss for sure, but let's not forget who he was up against.

It wasn't the first time. Federer served for the match at 2010 USO v Djok but couldn't do it. I think he takes Djokovic matches too personally and gets too emotional which makes him prone to make silly errors. I don't understand why he hates Djok so much. Just give more respect and stay calm in the key moments so you can win the matches you should win, Rogi.

Blew Nadal right off the court in that AO 2019 final, which was pretty ugly. Pushers don't blow people off the court.

No, it's not bad, Fed compensates for his light mental weakness with his other abilities, so it's fine. Yes, he can crack a bit, but in contrast he makes so many finals to compensate for that. 8/11 is still better in finals as 3/4 which is Wawrinka.

And Fed owns Wawrinka and Kohly with skills anyway, so their mental toughenss doesn't help them, so it's not so relevant. Remember Fed only looks a bit weaker compared to Rafa and Djokovic, on his own Fed has world class mentality, just maybe 5% less than Djokovic.

Kolhschriber just stated a fact,
The context of this interview pertained it to Federer.
No, he just stated an opinion. Calling something "bad" is opinion not a fact. It's about context. I can argue that Fed didn't lose them, that Djokovic took it away from him. This myth that just because Fed has a good serve that it's all on his racket needs to stop. Returners and defenders have control over the match too.

There are no pushers at elite level, people mean counter puncher and Djokovic is not even that, Murray is counter puncher, Djokovic is agressive baseliner, Federer labeled him that way, I think we can trust Fed on this one. Also Fed used slice a lot, I would call that being passive and Fed also defends a lot too, he is also not a clear agressor, he is all courter.

I get your point..
But do you think "having MPs and not converting is bad "as an opinion or as a fact

'Losing Wimbledon final that way for Roger Federer was absolutely bad'
(tennis world usa)

"I was never playing a Wimbledon final but not converting match points is absolutely bad", said Kohlschreiber.

Asked what makes Djokovic special, Kohlschreiber replied: "He is extremely solid.
He won three tie-breaks against Federer, he has a soft game style. Djoker doesn't make unforced errors, he returns so strong, he makes you nervous and he doesn't make you hit easy balls."

Reminder: Djoker was down match points versus Fed at U.S. Open 2011, 2012, Wimbledon 2019. Won them all.
Fed needs to close those out.
