Home of TW I know. Just looking for some locals - or anyone visiting who's up for a good hit.

I'm now splitting my time between the Los Angeles area and SLO and while I have tons of players in LA but been a while since I played in SLO so need to find some good ones up there.

Feel free to get in touch here or I can give you my direct email as well.

^^^^ You ever hit with @Shaolin? He's from up there; I hit with him when he visited down here a few yrs ago - he can really bring it.

Would be happy to hit if you want to stop by Santa Barbara on your way up or down.

Sounds good to me. I pass through SB all pretty much every week on the way up and down so I'd love to stop by for a hit.

Where do you usually play?

Let me know how to contact you -- or feel free to msg or email me here.

I'm from the central valley, but my wife and I are staying at the Sun Luis Bay Inn this coming Sunday and Monday nights in Avila Beach, but I'm not sure I qualify for hitting with you. I'm 54 years old, around a 4.5 player who enjoys playing singles.

No worries. Always good to get out there and hit. Know Avila well.

Feel free to shoot me a message or email here and we'll figure it out.

@DNS, in another thread you mentioned the two clay courts in Pismo - used to be red, now they're a mixture. Have you been by them lately? On Google Map's satellite shot they look like they need some TLC.

Yeah. I haven't checked them out lately -- been meaning to. I'll let you know as soon as I swing by and take a look and give you an update.

It's a shame if they aren't being looked after -- used to be so nice...

I did find another clay court right in SLO though.

I plan to hit singles with a guy I have known for a few years who is a member of the Pismo Clay Courts on Monday at 1:00 in the afternoon. He is around a 4.0 player, but I play against him with my wood racquets, and it is a blast.

Cool. I haven't played on those courts since they are all red clay years ago. West Coast Ace just asked me about those courts above!

Maybe I could swing by on Monday and say hi.

The courts aren't like they were years ago, but not too bad. They use some grey clay from a local provider, and some red clay they brought in from southern California. I guess the grey clay is much cheaper than the red, but it isn't as good as the red clay. I prefer the red clay!
Also, there is a har-tru clay court in SLO owned by a Jewish church. I think it is called Temple Near Shalom. I know the guy who won the 50's at the Avila USTA tournament the past two years plays there with his real estate friend. There names are Hal Sweasey and Miguel Phelps. I have never hit with them, but they are 5.0 players. I met Hal while I was visiting in Santa Barbara, he was playing in the 50 nationals. He did well until he got hurt and had to play Mike Fedderly, who I believe won the tournament. He made it to the quarterfinals. Also, I believe Hal Sweasey is a member at the Avila Tennis Club. That is an awesome place to play tennis. Those two guys would be a good challenge for you. I believe Hal works for ReMax and Miguel for Keller Williams real estate in SLO. I believe Hal told me he pays a small fee to play on the har-tru court with his friend.

Cool. Yeah I just discovered the Har-Tru court at the jewish center -- but haven't been able to hit on it yet since there never seems to be anyone there who knows anything about it! LOL

But yeah I'd love to hook up with those guys -- thanks for the info. And yeah I know all about the Avila Tennis Club -- was planing on joining here at some point.
