Great match, great fight and bottle when adversity was extremely high.

He's world number 1 again, he has 7 slams, he is currently the undisputed best player on Grass. After all the BS about him not having the bottle to win another slam he did it. What's next for Novak? crest of a wave = US Open victory? I'd expect so.

As for Federer and his fans, the way he played was brilliant, he's 3rd in the world, his serve/net play has been awesome and I still feel now more so than previously (last 12 months) that he can win more slams!

I hate it when Wimbledon finishes :(. Here what Djokovic said about Wimbledon being the premier Slam tournament?.

Huge win for him, he deserved it after a string of big losses.

I'm really glad he's taken back #1 with a major victory, it wouldn't feel right otherwise.

Through the sting of Federer's loss, I feel happy for Djokovic's win. He needed to hold a Slam trophy again and get his winning mojo back.

Unless he's fatigued, there's no telling how well he can do during the summer hard-court season. After Federer, I'll be rooting for him to sweep Canada, Cincinnati and the US Open.

Against any other player, Rogi wins this. Congrats to Novak for hanging in there through all the tough moments he faced today. A well-deserved victory!

Let's see how he handles the impending wedding/paternity issues. His mind may be on more important issues this summer. Is there word yet on due date?

I'm happy for the good Novak fans out. And I really loved the speech Novak gave today. It is pouring in my part of London, I remember last year it was the hottest day of the year. Hope everyone had a good day.

Djokovic NEEDS to win the US Open. He gets his mojo back, reclaims the AO and Nadal winning another 3 majors looks very unlikely.

Late October or early November I think. Plenty of time for the summer HC season. If he wins the USO he'd probably skip a couple of the master tournaments after...

what a match, oh my what a match. Roger still have it, don't underestimate him. Novak, I think God was on his side this time. Congratz to both guys, and congratz to both fans! IDEMO!

Hard not to feel happy for him and his fans especially when he got so tearful when Sue Barker interviewed him with the trophy! What a bunch of blubbers tennis pros are these days!

His dedication of his win to his fiancée and unborn baby and to his deceased childhood coach was very moving!

Djokovic now becomes the 11th man to win multiple Wimbledon titles in the Open Era, joining the likes of : Laver, Newcombe, Connors, Borg, McEnroe, Becker, Edberg, Sampras, Federer and Nadal!

It means nothing now, Djokovic played nothing different than he does on clay/hard courts. Nadal at least attacked the net some more in 2007/2008 compared to just camping behind the baseline all the time.

From what I've heard, I believe the wedding will take place in Montenegro this coming week! The baby is due in October.

I notice that Berdych hasn't tweeted any congratulations to either Roger for getting to yet another Wimbledon final, or for Novak for winning. If it had been Nadal, I wonder how gushing he'd have been?

I second this. Congratulations to everyone but Chico. He is a waste of space.

I've like Djokoivc's game...Unfortunately he ends up beating my favorite player in another heart breaking loss (USO 2011 & 2012) :( but can't say he did not deserve it...Why he can't play like this against Nadal is a mystery to me? Always ends up choking on big points against him... :(

To be fair, he always had some kind of bad luck going for him at RG against Nadal..lost his grandpa in 2012 before the clay season and went off the boil and lost the mental edge vs Nadal, enough has been said about the 2013 RG semi and I won't repeat it, he was clearly sick in the 2014 final and just seemed lifeless after the first set.
Talking about RG, if Fed had swapped his heroics (and the match result) at 2011 RG semi with this Wimby final, Nole would have his career slam, Fed would have Wimby #8 and slam #18 and everyone would be happy

Wow , those are some crazy stats. To me Djoko clearly looked like the better player and should have won in straights or max in 4. It was a miracle in itself that Fed took it to 5, specially after he was possessed in that 4th set.

The stats somehow make the match seem closer than what it really was ! Fed went to the net 67 times and won 44 of them ?! It somehow seemed like he went in on bad approach shots 90% of the times.

Well said, the tournament started poorly-my fav on the women's side, Serena, had a disastrous tournament, and the tournament was packed with players I don't like, but within about a 36 hour period, players like Wozny, Radwanska, Pova, Berdych, Murray, and Nadal were all sent packing-and my 2 favorite players were in the final. Good to see Novak overcome his recent demons in a very entertaining match.

Novak is kind of having a Fed '05- like season. Tough losses to the eventual champs in the first two slams, but wins almost everywhere else. He only has 4 losses on the season: 1 to Wawa, 1 to Rafa, and 2 to Roger. He's definitely the favorite for all the upcoming hard court tournies.

It would have been"cleanup on aisle 5!" from all of the gushing. I can't stand that guy, a sour faced whinet who plays hard against Novak and Roger, but lays down like a dog against Nada, generally speaking the sooner he is eliminated from big tournaments the better.

Funny how I'm thinking exactly what I said last year about hoping Djokovic sweeps Canada, Cincinnati and the US Open. I came in to this thread to say that lol.

I'm serious too. I was uber keen on Federer winning Wimbledon but I also want to see Djokovic establish his supremacy on his surface - hard courts - and to make history. He could make history if he sweeps the 6 biggest hard court tournaments: Australian Open, Indian Wells, Miami, Canada, Cincinnati, US Open.

Thanks everyone! I feel for Roger also, I would have loved for him to win the trophy also. I hope he wins slam 18 before it is all said and done.

Reminds me of Wimbledon 2001, when I wanted both Pat and Goran to win.
