Well done to Djokovic. Congratulations to his fans.
This is turning into one of the greatest comebacks of all time. He overcame mental issues, physical issues, and even domestic struggles which, honestly, should never have been any of our business.
As a Nadal fan, i have always held Djokovic in particularly high esteem because his rise to the top was achieved during the reign of not one but two ATG great players. He didn't rely on any favourable circumstances to get to the top. It was pure fight, training and ability.
Peter Bodo wrote an article on Djokovic in maybe 2007/2008 asking rhetorically if Djokovic was the perfect player, in terms of his uncluttered and highly efficient stroke mechanics. Im still not sure about that (i have my biases lol) but we now have to entertain the thought that he may end up being the greatest of his era.
@NoleFam @Hitman et al, enjoy this moment. I would also encourage general tennis fans to enjoy this sweetest of sporting comebacks. Yet again, the enigmatic Djokovic is dominating on his own terms.
