I am not a fan of Federer but the beauty of the world we live in is that there is lots of choice for us all.

I have so much respect for Federer from where he was a few years ago losing in the second round then a few finals and last year when he wasn't fit. To come back and win slams on his comeback is incredible.

As a fan of Novak I know that it's the hard times that make these times even more special so enjoy it and hopefully Novak will have some more good times in the near future too.

i love djoko too but have you seen the jacobs creek commercial of his? so touching. I've met both Fed and Djoko and would have to say, class acts. very gracious to their fans and wonderful for the sport.

Had to get this in there too.
because, today, watching how much grand slam 19 means to federer just puts into perspective how much of an *** wipe Bernard Tomic is. He and his aussie buddy Krygios are both vomit.
If you disagree, you're not a tennis fan.

Ditto! I'm also a Nole fan, and couldn't stand Roger for being arrogant. I held Sampras as the GOAT. But this year Roger earned his right to be arrogant, and no level of arrogance can surpass his tennis epicness. I confess on bumping Roger as a clear GOAT in my book. Sampras&Borg tied for second.

Congrats to Federer and all of his fans. It takes some effort and time to overcome your inherent bias and overcome disappointment and congratulate the player who had been one of the biggest rival of your favorite player. His consistency and drive to do well has been phenomenal. His tennis talent is unprecedented for last 20-25 years (may be forever, but I haven't witnessed before that so can't comment). The feel for the ball and the range of shot options he has for each ball just amazing. His gliding motions and graceful movement are beauty to behold. What is most inspiring is his drive to do well and improve at this age. Just wonder how mindboggling would have been his record if he has same mental fortitude as of Nadal, Djokovic.

Congrats there..!!

A friend of mine from my tennis club tragically lost his son aged 15 8 years ago yesterday in a tragic accident at our club.

His son was a huge Federer fan this made me happy knowing that a result can give comfort to a family that have experienced an ordeal that no one should have to.

Wow! I can't imagine anything worse. How did he pass away, if I may ask?

Not sure why I'm getting all these congrats, guess it must be for my epic counter-jinxing this year which has been working flawlessly so far.

What was the accident? Or maybe I shouldn't ask, I might get afraid of going to my own club.

Basically from what I understand my friend was working out in the gym upstairs at our tennis club.

While he was working out his son was swimming in the indoor pool and he drowned.

It really is tragic, he continues to play at our club as he sees it as his way of still connecting with his boy.

Congrats to Fed - a champion's champion and a gift to tennis.

And best wishes to fans of the champ and of his game and who all admire what he's done for the game.

But as far as "congratulating his fans" goes, I don't get it ...."congratulations" for watching? o_O

And as for his 'fanboys' (you know who you are), y'all go shlt in yer hat;) with your obnoxious crowing - you didn't win squat...

Thanks. Novak is too good to be on the sidelines for long.

He'll be back to sweeping up titles like they're cheerios on the kitchen floor.
