Most delusional rock band ever

To me it clearly is Deep Purple.

According to their talent, musicianship, potential and complementarity they had the assets to leave a bigger mark than they actually did.Until 73 or 74 they were in the supreme league with Sabbath,Zeppelin,Yes,Who,Floyd and some times even the Stones and the Ramones...but they broke into pieces in an example of egocentrism that Blackmore and Glover are to be straight blamed for.Paice and Lord keept it without Gilian ( another egolatric with enormous talent) but Coverdale and Hughes could never fill that hole.

Some bands are made as a sum of the parts being, no matter how much talented , even inferior to the totality as the LZ case provides ( and Pink Floyd too).In DP case, unfortunately it was just the other way back. And no Dio or Ozzy, well past their prime had the right to dirty the legacy of Mark 2...

I am always very hard with this band, that I always believed was promised all time greatness. But they didn´t have what their admired Zepp had, and that was a vision, a mission and the unity of soul and mind... so much unfortunately¡¡¡

I think Brian Wilson literally had delusions with the failed original attempt at making SMiLE but at least we got Pet Sounds out of him and a bunch of other great songs before he cracked.

Dunno about the most delusional band, I do know which club has the most delusional set of fans though :p

Hint: their legend looks like a shoe

Ahhh! I see there is no need now. The return of @kiki was short lived. Who turned him in???

Didn't I hinted to comeback with an unimaginative/inconspicuous username like in my case, it would be 5core in lieu of Vcore? He tried to deviate away from being the kickster yet he chose to attack DP--which I had zero intention to reply.

It's a pity but anyway he already came back with another username announcing his vacation in the States.

...I wonder who turned him in? Definitely not me!

"Burn" is one of the best Deep Purple albums, if not the best. They were magical at that point. That album is flawless

Gillan had a good scream, I loved his voice in "Made in Japan", but honestly, he was never in the Coverdale-Hughes' league as a singer.

Kiki/Vision's delusion was well documented by Foreigner in their classic hit Double Vision.

AC DC and KISS. these two bands just made a lot of noise and people thought they were great and kept on paying $60 per ticket to see them and made them into billonares

Well, maybe the OP has some good reasons to think DP didn´t live up to expectations. At least, partially, or at least, after the end of 1973.They were five talented players, with sound musicianship ( specially Lord and Blackmore) but not a united band.Unfortunately IMHO.

In tennis terms, and in their era they would be the Nastase of the 70´s.The talent was there, the atittude ...not so much.
Thanks OP!

Anyone remember The Knack? They were supposed to be the next Beatles, as was Oasis. I can't say I thought much of either band.
