Compared to the other three top seeds, yes. In absolute terms, it is difficult to pick seven players that would trouble Nadal on clay, even if you forget the ranking system.

PHM had a hard time against Hernández and Schwank. Verdasco put up a good fight against Fed in Hamburg and here he sent Chela and Youzhny packing. I think Verdasco compares favorably to PHM, even if today he is not putting up as big a fight as PHM did. But neither is Nadal Djokovic.

Yeah, it is.. Just like it for Federer on Wimbledon.. Still, I always see people saying Roger hada cakewalk 5 years in a row. I could name the seven people to trouble Rafa most. I think that would be Roger, Novak,Davydenko Ferrer, Nalbandian, Almagro, Ferrero.. something like that would be a tough draw
On the match. I think Rafa's playing awesome, but not even his very best I think. Verdasco is pretty awful, so hard to tell how good Rafa's playing. He's obviously the man to beat again. I, as a fed fan think I should be happy if Roger defends his points, Novak doesn't get any closer and Roger showed he's the no. 2 on clay again. I'm really looking forward to the second week of this tournament. I think Rafa's next opponent could be a lot tougher, because Rafa's serve is vulnerable. Almagro's is very good, so hopefully Almagro can hold a bit easier and put some pressure on the Rafa serve. We'll see.. I'm looking forward to it.

No contest for Verdasco, I watched the last set and really Nadal never had to get out of 1st gear. Mind you that was the 3rd set.

No,actually I predicted one relatively tough set where Almagro will put up some resistance like 6-4 or something and two very easy sets.In the end it turned out to be three very easy sets for Rafa.

In an interview to the Spanish media Verdasco said that he was hurting a lot and he was thinking of retiring at 6-1, 4-0, but he didn't out of respect towards Nadal and the tournament.
Still he managed to break Nadal twice in the third, I guess Rafa took it easy on him, I stopped watching after the second set.

Verdasco looked as if he was hurting. Nadal lucked out, to some extent. Could have been a bigger match if Verdasco were healthy.
