Narrow throat grommets help!!

Hey,

Just looking for some advice. I'm fairly new to stringing (as a hobby),

My friend has given me a cracked old head Racket to practise on but i can't seem to set the Racket in the mount properly because the space between the centre two throat grommets are too narrow for the centre mount post... Please advise me what to Do... When I tighten the mount to secure the Racket, the throat grommet strip get pushed out the frame....

Your 6 post is setup incorrectly, the shaped side should be against the throat.

Ahhh Irvin you genius! I saw a black pad on the stairs and wondered where it came from. It's come out. Shall re attach!

Yes you should definitely put that thing on.
Since many frames have different shapes, I have also made different load spreaders over the years.
Here is a small selection - there you can cover pretty much all contours.
