Someone stole your hat?
How did you get it?
I will be GHOATing tomorrow (Monday) at the US Open sporting either my black w/ lime green swoosh or white w/ black swoosh. It'll be a game time decision.
'Tis a sad day indeed when a Workhorse GHOAT is taken from its rightful home. I will guard my faithful twins even more vigilantly. Today, they rest as rainy weather cancels my daily outdoor routine...God's way of giving my boys a much deserved rest!
I felt the same sense of loss recently: my Oakley Flak Jackets that I had for 6 years went missing. I think some a-hole took them from my car, which was in my garage in my house at the time. Feels like I lost a friend, they were GSunglassesOAT! If I lost a GHOAT, I would be a sad boy indeed.
Expensive loss there, Carl, but at least Oakley keeps making successful products, unlike Schnike's GHOATlessness.
Looks like Berdych is sporting the GHOAT again today, this one looks to be obsidian/white or black/white, can't really tell on TV.
It looks to be a black/white Carl.
Sweat is pouring off Berdy's Carl GHOAT. It is hard to see closely on TV, but this black/white GHOAT almost looks like it is made from the Featherlite hat material on the panels on the cap part......the bill looks like the same woven fabric, but the cap part looks very slick and shiny like the Featherlite fabric.
It looks to me like it is Obsidian...I mean I have a hard time believe Nike would let him wear a black hat with obsidian on his shoes...I think his WB might be obsidian too like Federers.
There is an old man in front of me now with a white and red GHOAT. I took a video cuz I lol'd hard and I am so envious.
"I saw La Bamba" LAWLLLLL
Just saw that on your page.
I would die for that GHOAT. I saw Berdman with it earlier this year and I almost cried LOL
The old dude just left court 17. He had a deep southern accent. He was some sort of old GOAT. Can't believe I was GHOATing right next to a red white GHOAT.
If I died tomorrow and shot up to Heaven and I am asked what work on earth I'm most proud of it would be my Lou Diamond Phillips Crank Call and the tweener winner I did with 60 spectators.
Some of the Golden Eagle poetry comes close to the tweener though. But yeah. The Lou crank is epic immortal comedy from 1993. I was living in a 220 a month apartment trying to get into the crank call comedy business. I failed.
Phone Caller: "But my a** is killing me!"
Nurse/Receptionist: "Please use the proper terminology, sir!"
Jerky Boys, circa 1993
See ya later, LiverLips!
That old GOAT, with the heavy southern accent, was me.
Wore my extra Workhorse to the open today, wanted to get it signed by Berdy but to no avail (probably was thinking who's the jack@$$ trying to get an auto from me when he's almost my height?.) Settled for a James Blake auto on it instead, I'm sure his dome once graced a GHOAT prototype when he was with Nike.:???:
Just saw a good close up after the Querry/Berdych match, Berdych GHOAT is Featherlite fabric on the cap part. Must be made specially for him.
Hat soaks up some sweat though...think Donald Young had to switch the same hat during his Fed drubbing...must be made of sponge material
Even a GHOAT would be mismatched vs the fountain of sweat DY produces as a result of his prematch ritual visit to McDonald's for a Happy Meal.
No, Young wears the regular Featherlite model. Berdych's hat at the USO is GHOAT pattern, but with Featherlite fabric.
Do these hats come in the fitted, OSFM?
No they have velcro
I'd love to get my hands on a Berdych GHOAT! That seems like such an interesting hat!
Berdych's hat is same as the old material.
Even if someone watch from HD TV, it just looks like featherlight material but
When camera zoom into his hat briefly, I could see the material.
It's regular black color trend woven hat.
Sorry, Kim. I disagree. I just saw a super close up. The bill is the trend woven fabric, the hat part (front and sides, not the mesh) is featherlite material. It's too smooth and shiny to be old trend woven material.
I agree with Kim that's it's a regular GHOAT. I have 3 colors inc the black/lime and that looks shiny playing on humid days, giving the appearance of the lower quality featherlite fabric.
I am 20000% sure it's regular trend woven hat hahaha.
I swear that the super close up can't zoom-in more to see actual material.
Zoom needs a few second to reveal the actual material.
I saw slow motion zoom into his hat and 0.1-0.2 second reveal the material.
I remember similar situation with Isner at AO open and when he interviewed, the featherlight material revealed exact same as regular material.
I think it's a GHOAT. It has all the right markings. Who cares though.
We'll never see them again.
Ok. Why is Federer wearing white socks?
Here's a twisted statement from the force of Mother Nature...the morning after Berdy wins a swarm of crows flies over me and one of them had target practice on my Workhorse GHOAT...I kid u not! She'll be getting a bath when I get home. Bad Berd!
It was the GHOAT material, you could tell when he switched to a fresh one mid match, it was no longer shiny as it wasn't wet.
A slight divergence on the thread - was Berdych wearing a standard Nike Dri-Fit Tee last night?
But it IS black!
Nope. He was wearing the $58 Statement (or whatever name it has in 2012) tennis line he always wears
But in Cincy and toronto he was wearing the Ringer T which is more cotton than poly. I thought that was an interesting choice.
Thanks for the info - I'm more into running shirts than tennis shirts so I didn't know about the Statement line - it seems to be a similar variation on the sublimated running shirts.
I noticed that the Statement line contains Spandex which I generally don't like for tennis - is this material in the shoulders or all over the shirt. It didn't look like a form-fit shirt.
No worries. The spandex is throughout the shirt. It's not form-fitted at all when wearing your regular size, but it is quite stretchy all over. The sleeves are also quite long on this line, but no longer than a running shirts. For me, I far prefer the feel of the added spandex over plain poly but no doubt everyone has different preferences.
Anyhow, the GHOAT had a great tourny but I think all of it's sweat wicking powers will be eliminated come Saturday. I actually GHOATED in the black/lime last night, but with zero humidity couldn't come close to slicking it up into a Featherlight-esque monstrosity. Regardless, it's currently sudsing.
Yes, I finally got a good close up of the GHOAT on Berdych in the bright sunshine of todays match, and I could see the nubby texture of the fabric on his Carl GHOAT.
It most definitely had trademark GHOAT characteristics...the four-seamed bill and the inverted-U side panels. I had sweated quite a bit in my Night Ranger one day but it never "glossed up" when wet like Berdy's...different but same???
Yup, you were correct.
Never doubted it was GHOAT construction, Major Tom, I just thought the fabric looked too slick to be Trend Woven, and I had never seen any player sweat through the GHOAT like Berdych did, even in the hottest weather. That's what threw me!
By the way, my "workhorse" GHOAT is the white one you sold me; I wear it more often than any. I GHOATed it all day yesterday!
I need some more Basketball Elite socks so I'll make a trek up to the Schnike outlet next week and GHOATsafari while I'm there. Will poast with results...maybe the BerdGHOAT (shiny black) will appear for a close-up examination???
Interesting observation in a local Plaza like tennis shop:
The women's Nike Hats had very goatlike paneling. The Men's did not. I believe these were both dryfit featherlights.
I tweeted @JohnIsner asking him what he did with his ghoat trend woven collection now that he is with Lacoste, no response, go figure
Is the GHOAT dead? Officially dead?? :'(
A travesty, as well as a tragedy.....
Wish I could grab another GHOAT, my Night Ranger is really taking a beating...
Luckily I stockpiled about 10 GHOATs for personal use.....I sold about 20 or 30.....shoulda kept more.
