I would think you could make a pick, provided you got it in on time, despite not knowing the point totals for the match. It's a gamble, but certainly I think everyone should have that option. Honestly, most people probably wouldn't pick a match without the fixture, but in the case of a lucky loser type of situation that leaves very little time for a match fixture to be posted, I would think you could make a pick, if you're okay with rolling the dice!

I put Stringer's picks in earlier (along with maybe one other) and don't recall updating. The rest I did as I entered them directly inserting the score. Glad the score was corrected quickly. Probably put in a22 and some innocent converted to 22. I've some times fat fingered the initial number like a22, but haven't updated incorrectly as the error is caught when the scores are put in.

If NYK got on a substitution early enough, it was OK to pick from the new fixture. It's not often the remaining player has a high value vs LL. This was an odd one, especially knowing their h2h was recent and close with the surface advantage to Kumar (Newport grass).

All is well in the end. More longshots await.

It definitely doesn't come up very often, but obviously the initial match is void, unless the person who picked the player who did not pull out specifies that he or she wants to keep the pick regardless of the points. And then of course, players have the option of picking the lucky loser if they aren't sure of the point totals, but are willing to risk it. The only real issue is just the players making sure to make changes or get their picks in before that match begins.
