Prince replacement grips - DuraPro & DuraSoft

I regripped my old Prince racquet first with a Prince DuraSoft replacement grip that I got from the bay. I chose that one because the racquet is from when I was a kid and the grip was 4 1/4. I use 4 1/2 now so I wanted to bring it up as far as possible knowing I probably wouldn't get it to 4 1/2. So I started with a heat shrink sleeve (black) then put on the thickest replacement grip I could find.

Hated it. Didn't see from the bay pic that the DuraSoft has a weird tire-like tread pattern going the length of it. Looked terrible, in my opinion.

So I tore off that grip after playing with it once and got the standard Prince DuraPro and regripped it again. Putting this one on was like wrestling a bear, but it looks nice IMHO. Very classy (pic below).

Strangely, the DuraSoft was much better made than the DuraPro. The tapered end on the DuraPro looked like it had been cut by hand by an epileptic chimp. And the tape backing was all zigzaggy. But it looks way better than the other. And laugh if you want but a standard staple from an office stapler worked just fine to start it. Push it in with the stapler and then take a light hammer and give it a little tap and it's in and holds very well and doesn't cause any bumps.

After all that the grip is about 1/16" shy of 4 1/2. If I throw an overgrip on it I'll be right on. The bevels are a little rounded but not as much as I thought they'd be.
