Rank the USO champions of the last decade

1. 2011 Djokovic (would have slapped any version of Nadal).
2. 2013 Nadal (best Nadal of his 4 US Open wins)
3. 2015 Djokovic
4. 2016 Wawrinka
5. 2012 Murray
6. 2010 Nadal
7. 2018 Djokovic
8. 2014 Cilic
9. 2019 Nadal (*Could not play at Server Pace, Medvedev Moral Champion)
10. 2017 Nadal (Mug Draw)
Oh, really? 2011 Djokovic lost a set to Nadal who played with no serve at all, and no confidence. I very much doubt he would have "slapped" 2010 USO Nadal who was playing some of his best tennis. Anyway, the fact that you put 2010 Nadal below 2015 Djokovic, 2016 Wawrinka and 2012 Murray shows you don't know much about tennis. (or that you are simply a Nadal hater)

Not sure where to rank Wawrinka and Cilic. Maybe around 5/6.

Wow, I think you totally underestimate 2010 Nadal. The guy was a beast and I doubt his 2013 version (or anyone lower on your list) could touch him.

I'm curious as to where you would put 2009 Del Potro. And technically he's part of this last decade.

Put him in last place, makes as much sense as everyone's Murray listing.

Nadal in 2010 was at peak serve and near peak speed. He was legendary that year. He scared the crap out of me that year. That was first time(excluding all FO) that I was worried that Federer would get trampled by Nadal. 2010 is near the very top of my all-time USO list. 2010 Nadal at the USO was an absolute beast.

Now that the decade is over at least for Grand slams, I thought it'll be fun to rank all this decade's champions by the level they displayed for each slam. I'll start with the US Open
1. 2010 Nadal
2. 2011 Djokovic
3. 2013 Nadal
4. 2015 Djokovic
5. 2012 Murray
6. 2014 Cilic
7. 2016 Wawrinka
8. 2018 Djokovic
9. 2017 Nadal
10. 2019 Nadal
I'd rank Murray lower and Novak's 2015 as possibly the best.

*Nadal and Djokovic are the only USO champions in history who've won at least 3 times and never defended the title, so they rank last.

You've got the decade years wrong, so we can do this only next year...

Honestly I can't even remember most of these slams or performances. I remember Djokovic being pretty good in 2015 though.

Speaking of the last decade though I just realized that Nadal was the first to win the FO in 2010 and the last in 2019, just as he was the first to win the US Open in 2010 and the last in 2019. He was the first to win Wimbledon in 2010 too but couldn't finish it this year. That would have been very impressive imo.

I'm watching highlights of some of these finals (and checking out the match stats to flesh out the context) and man... 2010 Nadal was just nuts. Both guys were hitting the snot out of the ball in that final. Frankly, I'm surprised Djokovic managed to snag the second set. Probably the highest quality final this decade, in terms of the overall sustained level of both players.

Healthy and fit del Potro, who had an easy draw including the Nadal retirement so was fresh for the final, isn't easy to beat in straights (save AO) no matter how insipid it looks at first glance. Also BS on not playing a great semi, actually never got broken, didn't even face BPs iirc, quite impressive against Nishikori who is strong on return, obviously more than Nadal denying BPs to the likes of Anderson and Berrettini whose return game is significantly worse (service game better but not relevant to the point).

DelPo only played great in the second set.
He wasted many chances to win that set.
After losing the TB, he surrendered in the third set.

It was an easy draw for Djokovic, who was seeded 6.

Not sure about all of them but Djokovic 2011/ 2015 Nadal 2010/2013 are definitely the top 4 in some order
I’d go with Nadal 2010, Djokovic 2011, Nadal 2013, Djokovic 2015 probably
And Nadal 2019 is definitely last imo

I like your list, except I'd be more inclined to put 2015 Djoko above 2013 Nadal and Cilic above Murray.

2011/2012 and 2015 and 2019 had good play as well in the finals.....
This year's final was strange, but ultimately a great match. Apart from a few stretches here and there, neither guy was really all that confident being aggressive from the baseline and hitting through the court. But that resulted in both guys coming to net a lot and both playing some interesting cat-and-mouse tennis.

I watched highlights of 2011 as well and I feel both Djokovic and Nadal were playing excellently from the baseline, but neither was serving all that great. Nadal was back to his typical serve after his incredible peak in 2010, and Djokovic was pretty much spinning it in. He was playing so well from the baseline that it didn't matter, though. Lot of excellent rallies (more so than their meeting in 2013).

Can't really agree about 2012, though. It's not the players' fault - it was just too windy. Hilariously bad winners-to-unforced-errors ratios from both players. Even just in the highlights I couldn't count the number of times where Djokovic had to totally lunge forward just to hit the ball. I should check out 2015 again, though.
