Novak would have had 4 days off Federer looking in great form and Novak going for 3 Majors wins in a row v Federer think it will be tight but backing Nole in 4 sets.

I'll give Roger one set on account of his 16 GS record. 3 sets to Djokovic for being the better tennis player right now.

lol at anybody thinking Djokovic will win. Federer is in prime form right now and nobody except Nadal on clay can beat him when he plays like this.

For sure. Federer will overpower Nole with the grace of a ballerina. Not to mention Federer lives for the slams, and raises his game accordingly in the big matches.

Djokovic in straights against "this" Federer but with TMF you never know. So i'm going on a limb and say Federer in straights.

Djokovic easily. Federer struggled vs a craptatcular Monfils today.

I really hope the wind has died down by the semis, or this could turn into a 5 set mugfest.

novak vs rafa is the ideal final. A win will give Djoko the legitimacy of taking over No. 1 from Nadal, beating him on his favorite success and breaking the 5 time FO streak

It will be interesting to see how the conditions will be.No matter how good Djokovic is playing,it`s not like he won`t make errors if the wind will be blowing like today. So difficult one to call right now without knowing the playing conditions.
If it`s rainy, heavy without lots of wind then Djokovic is big favourite,if it`s sunny and clear sky then it`s 50-50 cause Federer is serving well while if it`s windy then it will deppend how both guys adjust.
We can get a match like Miami a couple years ago when Federer broke a racket

I want Fed to win, but I'd also love to see a non Fedal World #1 for the first time in 7 years as well.

As long as I see 5 sets I can live with either result.

Today's Fed stands no chance against Noel. 5/16 BP's and more towards the end :(

But I am glad to see Fed reach the semis. I hope to see Murray on the other side.

Nole in 4 sets. Fed takes 3rd...

You are so wrong, I cannot even begin to tell you what a ......

...smart guy you are. I agree but think Fed takes the first instead of the third.

Djoko coming off a few days of rest from match play combined with Roger's enthusiasm in the first set applying his aggressive tactics. Of course the aggression will give way to mistakes from set 2 onwards and Djoko will go from OK to Unbeatable.

LOL @ people who are dismissively claiming this will be Nole in "3 easy sets." Even at the AO, where Nole was playing *better* than he is now, and Federer was playing *worse*, each of the three sets was highly competitive. How about a little respect for somebody who hasn't dropped a set this tournament?

Nole is certainly the favorite, but Federer has a good chance of winning this also. My pick is a five-setter, but I am not sure who will win the fifth set. My gut is teling me Federer in an epic take down. While Nadal might fear Nole at this point, Federer never will. He'll always find the Serb to be that annoying guy with the loud parents.

^ kanamit, if Fred can get past Noel, he will win the whole thing. No one on the other end will be able to handle him.
But this is just a dream. We've seen what Noel is playing like. And yes, i love the line about the loud parents :D *thumbs up*

Thankfully Fed isn't as easily intimidated as some of his supporters on internet forums are. Otherwise it would be three easy sets.

I hope Fed can take some clues from Djoker's matches with Delpo and Richard. I recall Richard having no problem holding his serve, there was only 1 game per set where he struggled and coincidentally got broken. Then there's Delpo who's the only guy to take a set off Djoker so far. Think he won that set hitting with a bit more variety but I don't remember.

Fed has two options:

1. Organize a riot of Croatian fans screaming anti Serbian obscenities right outside of the stadium. That should distract the King enough for Fed to take some sets.

2. Fed can pretend he is back in 2006 when he was unable to lose on clay to anyone not named Nadal.

From what I remember of the game where Del Potro broke Novak in the second set, Novak hit a few unforced errors and double faulted on break point. Del Potro then held managed to hold serve for the rest of the set to take it.

I don't remember a lot else (I didn't see the match the next day as I was at work).

LOL. If by "Other Side" you mean joining Ferrer, Berdych, Monfil, Delpo etc, then I gues you wouldnt have to wait too long :)

I think now Novak over powers Roger. It wasn't that way before. IF Novak has a bad serving day,,roger has a chance. Pray for that..

Novak lost concentration, basically. The noise outside bothered him. If Nole does lose his focus for whatever reason, weather etc.. then Fed could take advantage but obviously new Djokovic has shown himself to be mentally rock solid more often than not.

I have this weird feeling for Federer in 4 sets...Only to be crushed by Rafa in the final.

I'm getting the same feeling about Federer in 4 sets over Djokovic. I hope the second opinion of yours comes true, but I'm sceptical at present. Nadal has to improve against Soderling, and probably Murray. Both are dangerous.

Yeah that sounds about right. I guess if Fed makes it a tight match he could get the crowd behind him, although saying that it didn't seem to affect Novak when he played Gasquet :-?

I will be rooting for Fed as usual, but the score will be something like 7-5 6-2 7-6 in favor of Djokovic, I reckon.

Having seen how both are playing I don't think Federer will be able to be consistent enough. He will come close though and probably few UEs will cost him tight sets. If he convert his BPs, he will win a set and probably gain a momentum and it will be on Djokovic to handle the situation. Unfortunately for Fed, Djokovic now has huge confidence he can win even in tight situations such as Miami final against Nadal. For me personally, his mentality is his best improvement in the course of the months he became the monster he is now.

Surely, the worst scenario is a beat down and I wouldn't like to see that happen.

Novak will prevail. It's his time, and he is taking it. Although, Roger beating him would be just insane....One match away from being world number one, only to be thwarted by Roger.
