The more I try different racquets and even other Angells, the more I appreciate how versatile the playability of this frame is. Best of luck!My TC95 V3 arrived today, what a beauty! [emoji1303]
Probably won’t be able to hit until the weekend, but nothing wrong with the looks.
I opted for grip shape C this time, and that is definitely the right one for me.
Been playing around with the handle weights in my TC100 for the past weeks. I had been playing with it at around 330 grams total weight (plus or minus 6-7) and about 6-7 pts HL for months but was not really feelin it. I haven't really been happy as if felt sluggish and I had trouble "feeling the head" as I prefer. So I removed the weight near the 7 inch mark and the 2nd weight up from the butt, only handle weight left is the one nearest the butt. Then I added about 5-6 grams of lead tape where I removed the lower weight. Now it weights 315 grams total and is 4.5 pts HL. Have played and hit with it twice and I gotta say this is the best "version" of this frame I have yet hit with, my racket head speed has picked up significantly adding spin and control and frankly I haven't noticed any significant lack of "plow or stability". My hitting partner said my ball speed and spin was noticeably increased, volleys felt better and serve was similar. Frankly if felt a bit more like a TC95 as I could feel the head more and really "whip" the frame more which suits my style of play more. Slice BH remained very good as it excels IMO with the frame. I have to say I love the ability to tweek a frame like this, I'll give it a few more weeks and see if the "bliss" lasts...
Yeah, I think I play better with a frame modestly lighter and a bit more head heavy - 4 pts HL vs 6-7HL. I did find my messing with and removing some of the weights that I really do NOT like much added weight at the 7 inch position from the butt cap. Like I said the Angell handle system is really nice as one can do some serious experimenting with weights which IMO cam make a big difference.Maybe that 330 was too much for your strokes
For anyone that has hit w/ V3, have you noticed much of a difference between V3 and V2 or is it mostly cosmetic?
Different feel. V2 feels crisper, V3 feels more muted.For anyone that has hit w/ V3, have you noticed much of a difference between V3 and V2 or is it mostly cosmetic?
Yeah, my one comment was going to be the string setup should have been the opposite but you said it. TC95 should have a 1.30 gauge given string spacing. And K7 lime can go thinner gauge given its tighter.Yesterday finally reached my K7 Lime. The test was done using Volkl Cyclone Tour 1.30 with 52 lbs. The test was performed with racket in stock mode and also with lead at 3 and 9 hours (2 grams each side). For comparison, I will compare the following rackets:
- TC95 V3 16x19 63 RA, 9hl, 307 SW 310 grams (unstrung) using the string WeissCannon Scorpion 1.22
- K7 Red using the Volkl Cyclone Tour 1.30 string with 50 lbs (version of the first lot I sold a few months ago).
-> Power
I found k7 lime with a good level of power in stock mode. However, when using lead, the power improved, but without losing control. Compared to Tc95, K7 lime has a little less power. But in relation to K7 Red, I found that Lime has more power even in stock mode
Unleaded: TC95> K7 Lime> K7 Red
With lead: TC95> K7 Lime> K7 Red
-> Control
K7 lime has an excellent level of control, far superior to tc95 and k7 Red. Level control equal to Head Pro Tour 280/630. This extra control is visible during the net game, which shows the very accurate racket.
Unleaded: K7 Lime> TC95> K7 Red
With lead: K7 Lime> TC95> K7 Red
-> Feel and Comfort
K7 lime has excellent feel and comfort. This depends a lot on the string used. Of the racquets I used, the K7 lime and red are the most comfortable. The string used in K7 lime and Red, is a very soft, which disturbs the feel a little, since they are already soft rackets, and this allows you to use harder strings, which favor the feel without disturbing the comfort. However in stock mode it is visible that the L7 Lime is more comfortable than the Red, even having a higher rigidity. Compared to TC95, the K7 lime is much more comfortable, even in balls out of the sweetspot I did not feel any nuisance or unwanted vibration, rather than the tc95 I feel a slight nuisance in balls off the center.
Unleaded: K7 Lime> K7 Red> TC95
With lead: K7 Lime> K7 Red> TC95
Forehand
With K7 lime I got a good forehand, with good speed and depth in both configurations. The throwing angle is the lowest of the three, with a much more plated ball.
-> Backhand
Same forehand behavior, no problems or difficulties during execution.
-> Serves
K7 lime served very well, with optimum power and precision. But it does not even have to compare with TC95, which is a cash machine.
-> Conclusions
The K7 lime behaved very well during all sets played. Racquet with excellent control, stability, with a good level of power. I still need to adjust the ball time with it, which is quite different compared to tc95 which is my current game racket. Also I need to make the choice of rope and tension for Lime, because the string chosen is not ideal for her profile. I need a few more weeks of testing to see if I'll trade the TC95 for her. At first I gained a lot of control with lime, but lost power and spin, which somehow I have to compensate using a proper string and technique.

Yes, I had that impression. My K7 Red was from the first batch. And you can add more stability there.More power, more control and better comfort over the K7 Red? Seems surprising from just a tighter string pattern, need to give mine another go!
I do not know to informDoes anyone know a definitive date when the k7 batches changed?

I had no problem with it so far. The only change I made was to take the lead at 3 and 9 o'clock and climb higher, putting between 10/11 and 1/2 hours. It greatly improved power and handling in this position instead of 3 and 9 hours.K7 Lime... I have developed some wrist pain after three seesions with this racquet. The racquet feels very comfortble, so go figure...
I have never had wrist problems before.

Do you think the luxilon alu power 125 would look good on K7 Lime?The K7 Lime is indeed very maneuverable.
Especiallly compared to my TC95.
I added 6 grams from 3-10 and 2-4 o'clock position and a vibration dampener of 3 grams at the top cross string. To counterbalance I put a leather grip. The total weight is 348 grams.
This setup still feels more maneuverable than my TC95.

But do you think it will leave the frame too stiff and uncomfortable?Yes, I think it"ll give a crisper feel as the K7 is already rather muted.

No I think it'll still be comfortable with a full copoly stringbed.But do you think it will leave the frame too stiff and uncomfortable?

I would not sell. I played with my 2 days only and on the second day I had a beautiful evolution with the racket, only missing adjustments in the OHBH.So after hitting last night for the 'last' time, I put my K7 Lime up for sale in the 'For Sale' section here earlier today and I've had multiple offers already. Gotta say, regardless of lines (TC95, TC97, TC100, K7), Angells sell like hot cakes. Has been like this since gunmetal PJ V1 versions. Love it. I am not sure if I should sell it though, someone talk me out of this!
Why do you want to sell it? K7 even if it’s not a dictating stick in character with TCs, is still a very unique hitting experience and very nice on the arm. Could easily be a stick to use when you have a tired arm and have a competent easy playability stick.So after hitting last night for the 'last' time, I put my K7 Lime up for sale in the 'For Sale' section here earlier today and I've had multiple offers already. ALU Power is the gold standard for how a poly should play. Nothing else like it. My only problem with that string is that the Lux effect does not last very long and string dies pretty quickly for me (after maybe 2-3 hours). And yes, it would definitely complement K7 Lime well. As Gee mentioned above, the crisp feedback would go well with hoop flex and muted feedback of Lime.Do you think the luxilon alu power 125 would look good on K7 Lime?

I have no qualms whatsoever with it. I can tweak with weight and play great. I like it so much better than K7 Red too. But I have 3 new V3 TC97 18x20 already and it seems this would not get any playtime whatsoever. I had trouble with OHBH as well in the beginning. In the end I figured it out. It was the swingweight messing with my timing.I would not sell. I played with my 2 days only and on the second day I had a beautiful evolution with the racket, only missing adjustments in the OHBH.

Totally agree, first 2 hours are great then you wonder what the heck happened?? I got some in 138 gauge to try in hopes it will last longerALU Power is the gold standard for how a poly should play. I know, right? I def agree with the hitting experience. Problem is it will not see a lot of court time and TC97 are easy on the arm, moreso than TC95/100 so kind of redundant in a way. That and I have so many sticks lying around it isn't even funny lol.Why do you want to sell it? Good luck. Guys have been trying to find ALU Power clone since it came out but nothing. Let me know if you find something that plays like it.The luxilon was chosen for easy access. But if it works well, I'll look for strings similar to it.
Ok, hold on before you sell, let me ask a couple of friends if anyone is interested. Bty, even though I’m totally happy with my TC95s and zero desire to change, I purchased a K7 red to have in my bagI know, right? I def agree with the hitting experience. I have some models already selected.Good luck. Guys have been trying to find ALU Power clone since it came out but nothing. Let me know if you find something that plays like it.

Actually the k7-lime is very comfortable. I am in the phase of choice of rope and tension that combines better with it, but I do not know if it will be the replacement of my tc95Ok so I am in the same boat as @haqq777, I have been playing with the Lime for a little while now and I must say its such a comfortable frame. I have added 3g of lead to the 10 & 2 areas, but it still swings very very fast. It's strung with cyclone 19g main, OGSM 17g crosses. Even with the lead it still swings super fast which I think also is messing up my timing. I am contemplating putting it for sale as well because the 93p just does pretty much everything better, but the feel of the Lime is addicting.
How does the K7 Lime compare to your Head Pro Tour 630?Actually the k7-lime is very comfortable. I am in the phase of choice of rope and tension that combines better with it, but I do not know if it will be the replacement of my tc95

I think you're more used to a open string pattern (that indeed used to be more forgiven than a more dense pattern). But,... If you prefer more control and precision with a dense pattern (like I do) you have to be patient and learn to play with that pattern.I myself find the tc 95 16x19 easier to play. The K7 Lime requires a more perfect and well executed movement. The tc95 is more forgiving, for having more spin.

I think the k7-lime is more powerful and with a bigger sweetspot than the pro tour. But the pro tour gives more control. On the comparison you are right, in moments of pressure k7-lime helps me more because it is more maneuverable and has a lot more control, allowing more precision in moments when you arrive totally broken in the ball. I chose a rope 1.30, very thick that very disrupts the spin. I'll put a thinner and see the behavior.I think you're more used to a open string pattern (that indeed used to be more forgiven than a more dense pattern). But,... In my case the K7 Lime is more forgiven than the TC95 18x20. Especially the better maneuverabillty of the K7 helps when I am under pressure during a rally. I am able to hit successful passing shots more often than with my (still heavier) TC95.
However I feel I still have to increase the swingweight of my K7.
I used a 1.30 rope with 52 lbs. You compromised her power too much. I imagine a rope between 1.20 and 1.25 with a tension between 45 and 48 lbs is the ideal setting.I think you're more used to a open string pattern (that indeed used to be more forgiven than a more dense pattern). Sounds logical that the PT630 has a little more control as the PT630 has actual a 95 sq inch headsize.I think the k7-lime is more powerful and with a bigger sweetspot than the pro tour. That is what I am using (almost exactly) at the moment. Head RIP Control 1.20 and MSV CoFocus 1.18 at a tension of 24/22 kg. Feels right to me. No problems with generating spin. Maybe a little crisper string as the Head RIP Control will give a little bit crisper feel. Maybe I'll try a full CoFocus stringbed next time.I used a 1.30 rope with 52 lbs.
