hey! going a little o'er the top dontcha think? every fan'll trash talk some, but hey, we just got outplayed by the better team. I will say that Parker's back, but unfortunately, still not convinced by Ben. but against their next opponents, maybe that won't be as much of a factor.

no need to add more insult, i have already acknowledged that my team lost, and yours won. Went 6-2 for predictions so far. really thought the bolts had that chance....:(

REALLY?! I'm not a big fan of Big Ben either but he sure impressed me. Some of his throws were incredible. There were numerous instances where he converted 3rd & long by throwing a perfect pass. I don't know how high your standards are...

well, combined with the fact i couldn't bear to watch the game after it was 21 or 28 -10 steelers.

he's probably fine as a QB in some people's eyes, but i just don't like him.

I don't know why I'm pleased with Philip river's performance either, even though he's incredibly cocky.

my ideal QB is someone who throws for at least 3500 yards, and has a 2:1 TD:INT ratio. s'a bit high, but those are my standards.

If you guys haven't been following the coaching changes:
-McDaniels, offensive coordinator for Pats, was hired as Broncos head coach.
-There's talk of former 49er's head coach taking the job for Broncos defensive coordinator.
-Former Jets' coach, Mangini, is hired as Browns' head coach.
-Perhaps the biggest news, Tony Dungy retired! He will be missed by the Colts.

i thought big ben looked pretty good as well. so did parker. both performed much better than i thought they would have. without the numerous 3rd and long passes he made the game would have been much different. however, i still didn't see some great team in the steelers. they now have a great chance to win the superbowl, but they def aren't some dominant force. besides 2 HUGE breaks that went against the chargers it was a close one.

Just had to put down those ridiculous comments...especially re. Ward. Did you REALLY think an 8-8 team would win the conference? I like the Steelers, but it hasn't made me BLIND yet!

Big Ben does well when the running game clicks. If Parker can put in another great performance, Ben mostly just has to sit back and watch the fun, throwing a few passes to force the opposing "D" back.

Big Ben looked great and with that defense you'd have to think they're the favorites to win it all. The Pitt/Ravens game should be good though, Parker will have to get some yards to loosen up that great defense.
I agree. But darn, beating Balt. THREE TIMES? What are the odds? I'm not making any picks here, but they'll have their hands full. If Parker is back to his old self, it may be in the bag, though.

calling an "ALL-BIRDS" superbowl.

ravens have had a lot of momentum going for them, but they have lost 2x to the steelers. but the last game was ?nable. and it was close too.

i think the cards may get their sweet revenge back. Both sides of the Cardinals line have been holding up well. even held J Peppers in check.
don't really see edge the vet getting a 100 yd game, but perhaps kurt can break 350 with BOLDIN back. sucks about steve spach though.

how about some of the recent coaching changes? I'm a little worried about my bolts now that two top Patriot staff members are in the AFC west now.

Oh, you don't need to worry too much about that. Next season-with or without those new coaches-the Chargers will be every bit as mediocre as they were this season;-)

I'm excited about McDaniels with the Broncos. Let's see if he can do the same with Cutler, Marshall, and Royal like he did with Brady, Moss, and Welker.

hmm lets see the talent difference

Brady much better than cutler even before mcdaniels
Moss a bit better than Marshall even before mcdaniels
Welker better than Royal before Mcdaniels

McDaniels made CASSEL, who hasn't started a football game since HIGH SCHOOL, into a good quarterback. In fact, he had 3,693 yards and 21 TDs this year as opposed to 2,843 yards and 18 TDs Tom Brady had his first year as starter.
Moss was mediocre without Brady. If he's so good, why didn't he repeat last year's performance?
Royal is a ROOKIE. During Welker's rookie season, he didn't even make the roster as a wideout.

Can't be very clutch when your receiver is dragged down from behind with no interference call.
Yeah, as I've posted over in the eagles thread, I don't see how in the world that play wasn't called for pass interference, and I HATE the eagles!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: McNabb is NOT clutch!

see, i hate it when this stuff happens. yes there was contact, but was it interference? and nobody wants to be the official who makes a bad call, and changes the outcourse of the game. and especially the nfl's rule about how a play is blown "dead" it can't be changed. BS.

but at least the cardinals won!

Man, that hit on McGahee... I really hope he's okay.

Dude, i know, i saw that hit and i was like DAM! that was a really ugly hit.
I really hope the guy's OK, and at least he was moving a bit and at least semi conscious.

on a lighter note, i think i know why the steelers made it to the SB. I was knew that the steelers D was good in terms of stats, but they proved it again and again. the big thing was, that their offense gets it done when it counts.

Kudos to your team phil for making the superbowl, but i'm still rootin for those winless cards!

Why thank you, pfchang. I came home from a hard day's work (rare) and damn if I'm not the happiest camper alive right now. You're right that the Stillers' O gets it done in the clutch. It may not always be pretty ala Peyton Manning's offense, but all I care about is the score after 60 minutes...

Did anyone else think Steelers/Ravens game was probably the most boring game this playoffs (possibly even the entire regular season...)?

What were you expecting? You knew both teams were going to knock helmets off each other. Neither team is a high-scoring group and both boast having great defenses. The Ravens had no chance being all banged up and asking a rookie QB to hold the fort (didn't work for Big Ben either when his team went 15-1 his rookie year).

Arizona vs Pitt should be matchup of high-scoring offense vs solid defense. Arizona looking for its first NFL title in over 60 years against a team looking for it's 6th Super Bowl. Great air attack versus a punishing ground game. Woeful franchise versus one of the great franchises.

Arizona is my neighboring state, but I've NEVER liked the Cards. So GO STEELERS!

Well, the play I'm referring to, in which the Cardinals' DB, after having tripped and falling down, literally dragged down the receiver for the eagles before the ball got there. Yeah, even though I hate the eagles, and I'm glad the Cardinals won, that was definitely pass interference.

Go Stillers!! Woohoo! Our team is better than all of your teams. Haha. They are gonna wipe the floor with the asses of the other team. They will drive home the obvious fact that they are number one. They will dance circles around the...who are they playing?...the Cardinals? Like it really matters......

Like warriors on a war path of mayhem and destruction, they will annihilate. They will pilage your homes, steal your women and horses and destroy your crops! (Oops! Wrong speech). They will walk on steady feet through the night to confidently bring home a victory. They will laugh in the faces of those who oppose them and open the biggest can o' whoop ass those hothouse lilies have ever seen. It will be a domination of force, a dizzying spectacle of speed and strength and will leave the losers shaking and confused in their wake.

Carry on fool's ball fans.....to the finish!!!!

so. superbowl's 2morrow. any picks?

I want the cards to win, but i had a creepy dream, seriously, about the Steelers winning 17-7 in the last couple minutes of the game.

some cardinals safety had a chance for a pick six, but he dropped the ball that was in his hands at the steelers 5 yd line.

Great match and halftime show, not sure about all the penalties though, and Harrison punching that Cardinals player in the back.

Harrison acted like a complete jackass on that play. He's lucky the penalty was a post-possession one and that in reality it was only a 1yd penalty.

It was a penalty-fest on both sides, but more costly to the Cardinals. They had drives die because of penalties in the first half. Then another drive with 3 personal foul penalties that got Pitt a FG.

I really thought the Cardinals were an unworthy Super Bowl team, but they played really tough. Their D held up in the red zone except for that last drive. Is this Warner's last game? Will Lebeau return next year? Who knows... but it was a great game. Not as good as last year's but down to the wire and filled with emotions and drama to make it one of the best super bowls.

Well boys, any comments about the off season as of so far?

Marshawn Lynch got busted

Veterans Fred Taylor, Deuce (literally) Mccallister, Marvin Harrison, and Albert Haynesworth are gonna hit FA.

And we need to get a fantasy league in the works.

So what do our TT football prognosticators predict for this weekend's football games? Do the Cowboys clinch the East? Do the pats and bengals lie down to keep the steelers out of the playoffs? Do the vikings sew up 2nd seed?

soyizgood

^^^ Eagles should beat the Cowgirls. Steelers shot themselves in the foot with their spotty play all year. Viqueens are falling apart at the worst time of the year.

Indy's "saving Peyton" could end up backfiring. I think the Chargers could come out of the AFC.

Well this thread is blowing up; NOT! Hmmm, America's Team is now 6-6 after dropping another Thx'gvn game at home! I'm still chuckling watching Buffalo Bill's QB, Allen pick them apart with an ex-Cowboy receiver, Beasley! I almost fell out on the floor with comments about the Dallas "pass rush" this morning on the sports talk shows! They should have been playing the music of Elton John singing, "I'm Still Standing..." when Allen just stood still there in the pocket in one of the pass plays! I can't ever remember a QB absolutely "standing still" in "the pocket" with impunity as he scanned the field not sweatin' the rush! :-D
