Just because it was the norm does not mean it will carry on being the norm. It changes with time. Only a few years ago, underhand serves were a gamesmanship issue. What happened? Kyrgios embraced it and now it is a part of the sport.

Another one is SABR. It was deemed disrespectful. What happened? I don't think anyone would get angry at a player using SABR.

People just create imaginary rules and expect others to follow it. You are entitled to two toilet breaks. Whether you use it or not is your prerogative. It's like 25 sec rule between points. Some are ready to serve in 10 sec and some take full 25 sec and then toss. Since the ball is in motion, umpire can't give a warning. Some people could have a problem with that. Why? Because people create imaginary gamesmanship rules. They argue just because you can, you shouldn't. Ridiculous.

Having said that, toilet break rule must be made clearer with a clearly defined time and enforced with a clock.

Except now, players will call out the abuse. We have seen it recently in both ATP and WTA. People do not tolerate legal cheating anymore. I except an update on the rules in the near future.

I don't remember SABR being deemed disrespectful... It was just chipping and charging. If thats the case then Edberg should be the most hated player in history!

I do have an issue with Sascha accusing him in public of cheating on his toilet break. Surely he of all people understands the power of allegations without overt proof. Until and unless it is known for sure that he did in fact use his phone to cheat, it’s not cool for Zverev to accuse him of it.

Oh good gravy. You accused Murray of taking tactical toilet breaks and can't back up those claims at all.
No the first accusation is tsitsipas used a tactical toilet break, and the point is if you can accuse him of using one, you can also accuse Murray of it too.

Saying I cant prove Murray used a tactical toilet break, actually undermines the whole argument accusing tsitsipas of using one because youd need to hold both to the same standard of proof.

So im accusing Murray, based on your standard of proof used first, against tsitsipas.
