What's your favorite string...to string?

Was just thinking about this the other day as people are playing a lot more tennis since the year's started. Lots aka the vast majority of players want a poly string which is fine, but I do rather enjoy those who use hybrids. Why? The soft cross is simply easy to weave. So that got me thinking, what's your favorite string to string up? It's likely the string that lets you string the quickest but I guess doesn't have to be. For me, it's a hybrid of a poly main (no clamp drawback) crossed with Maxim Touch (sooooooooooooooo easy to work with). You? :)

Poly main with a really soft multi, psmt is good, excel premium is really easy. Alu rough and bbor are the worst. Especially with gut in the mains. Its so hard to pull it through while you listen to the luxilon scraping the poor gut mains.

Maxim Touch was great to string up in a full bed. I also enjoy weaving on stiffer poly crosses. B5E/Thunder Blast is pretty darn easy to work with.

Worst for me was BBO. Worst multi was RIP Control.

I do have to agree with Up&comer 100% of the way on the worst setup. Using gut mains in itself isn't hard or stressful. However, getting ALU-R through blocked holes, holes blocked by natty is very difficult. Unlike really any other string, when the gut goes around a bend, its elasticity makes it flatten out a bit. That makes it even more painful to get through a hole. Couple that with the fact that ALU-R feels like rope in your hands: soft, but with no structure, AND the fact that using an awl or pathfinder on a gut-blocked hole is suicidal, you've got yourself a fun time. I do not regret using natural gut in crosses or mains.......but I hate stringing ALU Rough

Technifibre NRG2 strings are like noodle.

Very enjoyable, amazing experience. But I don't use that string anymore. :/

Mantis Comfort Synthetic, except for that smell!
Most synguts are pretty easy to work with.

Just strung up my first multi, Dunlop Hexy 16. I have to say that if stringing enjoyment were the only category I was concerned with, I'd be buying nothing but this string. So nice and easy.

Of course, I sort of assume there are many other multi's that are just as enjoyable to string, so perhaps it's a category thing.

It's much easier to weave and better feeling on the hands than any of the many synthetic guts I've used. Poly... I hate stringing that stuff.

I've always found multis easier than syn guts. They're still stiff enough to get through blocked holes, but are just so supple. Spiral Flex is a good exception, but it's rather thick. I strung up some Live Wire XP in a few frames recently and while it was easy to string, it gets put into the syn gut category for ease. It has this greasy coating to it which I guess makes it easier to string.....for the string, but harder to weave and hold onto.

I take it you have just started then :)

Or he has some special technique he's hiding that makes poly easy to string.

I honestly though pht was easier to string than alot of other polys because it doesn't kink or twist up like bhbr. That stuff will not straighten out. And it's not coil memory, it just twists up for no reason.

The smell is the best part! Only issue with MCS is getting through blocked holes, because it is so limp.

Dunlop Hexy has the shaped profile which makes it slightly more difficult to weave.

See you guys are likely all doing push/pull weaving. I can't do that, so the profile makes no difference to me. I should post a video so people will stop asking me how I weave...

PHT and Head Sonic Pro are the easiest Poly's to string with imo.

I recently strung a racquet with Solinco Barb Wire. Still having nightmares over it.

I really enjoyed Head FXP Power 16. The crosses were beyond smooth, it was simply incredible. It was like watching a small Arctic mammal slide across a frozen lake.

As far as polys go, Lux Savage 16 was a blast to string. I was surprised at how easily crosses glided over the mains, it was quite pleasant. FXP Power still stands as my favorite though. If they offered it in a reel, I'd use it as my regular string. Until then, though, Gosen OG Sheep is close enough in playability (although it is a little less...feel-friendly) and the reel lets me save string.
