Seeing as nobody more knowledgeable has answered your question, I'll put in my two cents. Probably strings such as wilson nxt tour or other high end expensive multifilament strings play very similar to gut. If you have any control problems, I would combine these strings with a polyester string.

I hear the Laserfibre Supernatural Prostock is good but mine is sitting in my drawer for the time being.

I would agree the wilson nxt are very similar to natural gut. However, in my experience they do not retain tension anywhere near the length of time natural gut does, and are not as dureable as natural gut.

good luck

I second TF X1 biophase. Closets to nat gut that I've ever played with. Also has a sweet sound in my I.prestiges.

technidibre nrg2 IMO is the closest, though that gamma professional stuff is supposed to be pretty good too (never used it).

The drop between the most humble natural gut and the best plastic substitutes is a large one, in my view. Many multi-filaments try so hard to be "soft" that they end up mushy. NRG2 and NXT come to mind. The "better" multi-filaments I have tried were also not as durable as natural gut. As a final insult, some cost nearly as much as gut and more than a gut hybrid.

One multi that seemed headed in the right direction has gotten very little notice and is priced relatively low for a fancy string: Gamma Revelation Live Wire -- $7.25 at TW. I don't know about its durability, but freshly strung, I could live with it.

Laser Supreme is not as soft, but it has the same kind of crisp, yet comfortable feel and it holds its tension better than others like NXT and NRG2. Live Wire XP is another one worth trying although it's not as good as LF Supreme, IMO.

I am thinking of getting the new lm radical mp and was thinking of stringing it wtih the nrg2 but a lot of people have said it is really good but frays quickly and doesnt last long? How true is this? Also, how much do most stores sell lm radical's for? I found an online store in newyork that sells them for $150, which is $30 less then TW. And they sell the babolat pd and lm prestige at $150 also.
