I think the question to ask is which member of Zeppelin would you choose to have in your band if you could only choose one of them. And I suspect the answer more often than not will be Robert Plant (well, 70s Robert Plant, to be specific). Jimmy Page was a great songwriter - immensely talented. But he was only an average guitarist from a technical perspective (not that that's incredibly important - the songwriting is much more important). But Robert Plant's voice and melodies... that's one in a million. And that was pure talent - no training whatsoever. He just had "it." Thought experiment. It's 1980 and Led Zeppelin have split but Page and Plant have formed their own separate groups to play Zeppelin songs. If you can only choose one, which one are you going to see? Plant's, of course. Bonham was incredibly talented as well. JPJ was very talented but, let's face it, it's hard to shine in a rock band when you're playing bass (and a bit of keyboards) - that's life.
