Nadal:
Upside: More shouting, grunting, biting, and picking
Downside: More stalling, MTOs, cheating, and bumping

Djokovic:
Upside: More chest-thumping, attention-seeking, clapping, and splitting
Downside: More domination because of weak era

What are MTO's?

Current favorite is Raonic.
Pros: Great serve, good forehand, great volleys.
Cons: Just about everything else.

BUT. Despite his many flaws, I like him. There might be much better players, but I like him.

Other than Fed I like Gilles Simon:

Pros: Aesthetically pleasing game(especially backhand), consistency when playing, whacks the ball for winners unexpectedly.
Cons: Can get pushed around, usually not enough firepower, serve.

Also looks like Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter at times.... I'll leave that up to you to decide if that is a pro or con..

Rafael Nadal
Pros: Competitive fire, fantastic personality, exciting to watch
Cons: Too injury-prone

Richard Gasquet
Pros: Beautiful all-court game, fantastic backhand, reliable pigeon for Nadal
Cons: Failed to close out Kyrgios at Wimbledon and pave way for Nadal to make Wimbledon Final this year

You make Fed look bad with bringing up weak era argument since he dominated an era when Ljubicic was №3. No era cannot be weaker than Fed's 04-06 era.

Deeper field. Look at Ferrer. He wasn't able to do anything in the strong era of 2004-2007 even though he was in his prime. Now, as a 30 year-old grandpa in 2012, he was doing so much better because of weak competition

Definite proof of 2010-2014 being a weak era :)

To be fair to Ferrer, he did change his game around 2011. In his early years on tour, he really was a genuinely defensive player. He has become much more aggressive over the years, to the point where he almost plays like Davydenko or Agassi (takes the ball very early, dictates the point from the beginning off the return of serve, runs the opponent around). It's not like the field magically got so much worse that he found himself in the top 5 by accident.

I gave you definite proof of why this era is weak :)

Yes, he was top 5 in the strong era in his prime. And top 3 in 2013 as a grandpa

Ferrer was a late bloomer, and yes #3 in 2013 with GS final, SF and 2 QF, whats wrong with that?

Ljubicic was #3 in 2006 with RG SF (LMAO draw) and Zagreb title :):)

Nadal basically doesn't have so many downsides...he won some big games and lost some big ones, but I guess his biggest downside is that he's lost some winnable games, but he's low-risk, low-reward.

Prime 24 year-old Ferrer could only finish #14 in the strong era of 2006. 2012/2013 were so weak that he able to get to #3 as a 31 year-old grandpa

Deep and strong field. Even top players had trouble making it deep in Slams because there were so many dangerous players around :) Unlike today's black hole era where there is no competition at all and grandpas like Federer and Ferrer can get to #1 and #3

I tell you something Mayo- if Ferrer really is a grandpa, he has to be the fittest one I've ever seen! :)

Federer:
Pros: Beautiful game, astounding touch and a great guy.
Cons: ... Convert your breakpoints and chances Roger... Please...

Dimitrov:
Pros: Exciting game with ridiculous improvisations/demonstrations of his talent.
Cons: Stop sliding like you're walking on ice and get some consistency and a good gameplan for crying out loud :)

The competition isn't just djokovic and nadal you know. there are other great players out there

Are you serious? When was the last time there was no Slam winner below the age of 26? There is absolutely no resistance from the field or the young players.

I ask again: when was the last time there was no Slam winner below the age of 26?

Nadal, not because i think he's the best player on the tour but because he tries hard and never gives up. Federer and Djokovic are right up there too.
