Wimbledon 2015 Draw

Discuss the Big Four 1/2's (Stannis is slowly climbing his way into Big Four territory) draw potential.

Murray
I guess the UK doesn't play favorites, because they really screwed the hometown hero here. After the Third Round, he could potentially play Jo-Willy, Rafa, Fed, then Djoker.

Djoker

Novak has no easy tasks here either. Kohli in the first round1? Kevin Anderson in the Fourth Round could be dangerous, but probably won't be. He also drew Stannis in the same half, look for these two to eventually meet; Novak will be looking for blood this time.

Rafa
Not too difficult of a first round against belluci, but he could get some nice revenge on Dustin Brown in the second if Brown can make it happen. Speed up to the Fourth Round and we could get a Ferrer-Nadal matchup. After that, he'd face Murray, Roger, then Djoker.

Federer

To me, Roger's draw doesn't get interesting until at least the Fourth round, where could play someone like Feli Lopez. After that, its back to the Big Four players in the Qtrs/Semis/Finals.

Lol, Djokovic's draw is ridiculous. Kohli first ROUND? I don't buy the whole "rigged draws" argument but I'm not surprised if someone mentions it this year.

Murray has a terrible draw aswell. My guy, Rafa, has a decent draw and so does Roger, again.

I still think Murray will win after seeing the draw. It wouldn't surprise if Fedal lose before any potential match with him.

I think #Novak has a very good chance of winning #Wimbledon. I don't know why, but I feel like he will be lifting the trophy. #GirlBye

Simplified seed groupings.

Murray's quarter has: Seppi, Tsonga, Nadal, Fognini, Troiki, Ferrer

Federer: Berdych, Simon, Lopez, Sock, Bautista-Agut, Monfils

Djokovic: Tomic, Mayer, Anderson, Cilic, Isner, Cuevas, Nishikori

Wawrinka: Thiem, Goffin, Dimitrov, Gasquet, Kyrgois, Raonic, Robredo.

Murray easily has the toughest if we look at rankings.

Fed has nothing to sneeze at either. Sock had a great run at the French and Lopez is always a threat on grass.

Arrggghh, I really don't want PK to go home first round. Djoker has won this before, he doesn't need to win it again!!

I just notice that with a Nadal title would give him a won slam on grass, clay and hard court at least three times each surface.Would this be a first time on men's in history?

Murray has a ridiculous draw. Beating Tsonga/Nadal/Fed/Djoko is mission imfreakinpossible. Fed might actually have a chance again a tired Murray if Fed makes it to the SF and Murray beats Nadal. Djoko's has a few matches against good 2nd tier players which isn't too hard of a task for him. Wawa isn't a favorite on grass and a few players in his quarter will have equal chance.

Im hoping we get some boilovers. Good to see the top 4 getting more vulnerable and grass can make it happen. I want to see a servebot raonic or a onfire tsonga take it out. And on the way i want to see stanimal take djokovic out so he really gets inside his head and starts giving him nightmares!

these are really exciting draws. more action on the federer/murray side, but a lot of good players on djokovic's and wawrinka's half as well.

Yeah, I think his draw is quite decent. Avoids real tough opponents in the early stages, and then avoids big hitters after that. While Novak will face good players, they are not the biggest hitters who could be very dangerous on their day, except Wawa. Wawa is that type of player who can hurt anyone on his day with his big serves and ground strokes(and he also a decent volleyer), but I still have doubts if his game is really suited for grass. Djokovic seems safe until SF.

Am hoping for another 4th round classic Wawrinka vs Gasquet match to savour (like the 2013 French Open 4th Round).

No-one had better get in the way of that...

Hope Almagro does well too.

Screw everyone else - and I'm getting bored of the 'Big 3'.

Tough draw for Murray. Novak has a tough 1st round with Kolbi but then again Kolhi doesn't have much success on grass. Of the big 4, Novak definetely has the easiest draw.

Wasn't Tsonga injured. Is he even a threat here?

And Nadal, seriously do you think he can give any trouble to the Scotsman ? Andy's only challenge lies in the final.

Rafa has a bye in the semis.
That's what Rog is to Rafa at any slam.
LOL. Thanks for the laughs. Nadal and Fed both have to REACH the semis for this "bye".
And Nads has to first beat Murray, who is no slouch. I don't see Rafa getting past Murray seriously. He just is not in that good form, esp in a BO5.

False to the highest degree.

Andy has a ****e draw.
Pls explain in a civil manner why what is said is false to the highest degree. That's a rather curt thing to say. I am all for andy to win this btw. I am not trying to put him down like some folks here do.

Did you even read the article I posted? Despite the fact that it's a British rag, the facts are clear: he has to play four potential finalists to even make it to the finals...

So what was false to the highest degree.

I asked if Tsonga was not injured a while back. The link also says it was.
I then asked if Nadal would really give any trouble to Andy. Just see how he performed on clay, his favorite surface after playing several events on it.
Now he is on grass where he has just played a couple weeks.

So which of these above statements if false to the highest degree. Have i even said anything extreme ?

C'mon Sentinel. You post some pretty decent stuff on here and it's obvious you're no dunderhead. Any casual tennis fan could realize that having to play Rafa before playing Fed, before playing Novak knows this is no easy feat by any stretch. Nadal and Federer on their best days on grass are impossible to beat, it just depends what kind of Nadal and Federer we see.

^ Okay Okay. I don't want to get into a war with anyone over an opinion. I just think Andy is too good at the moment. I am not part of the silly jinx/anti-jinx brigade, although i do have a lot of fun here.

Let's see how it pans out. I know there can be upsets, but I am really not looking at Nadal and Fed doing the upsetting. I'd be overjoyed if Fed reached the final, but expecting him to put 6 good matches in a row is asking for too much really. I know Murray dropped a bunch of sets here and there at RG. Maybe you think i am trying to belittle or mock Murray and say he has an easy draw. I am not saying that. I just think he is way better than Nadal or Fed at this time.

I guess we'll see ...

Everyone mentioning Nadal-Brown...don't forget Brown has to beat Lu first, and Lu is a slight favourite for this match, even though I wouldn't be surprised if Brown wins, don't count Lu out now who is playing on his favourite surface.

Also people mentioning Lopez, you should check his recent matches, Lopez has won 2 matches for 3 losses on grass, losses to Groth, Isner, and Lu. He's playing terrible since Miami.

Djokovic has a decent draw, Kohlschreiber sure is not the easiest R1 but after that it gets easier (Hewitt lmao, not even sure he'll beat Nieminen), and he has 2 men who struggle lately, Cilic or Nishikori, both are not in the best form, Cilic lost twice to Troicki these last 3 weeks, and Nishikori who knows if he has recovered from his injury, and he's playing on his weakest surface anyway...

^ Yeah but Djokovic isn't reliable at this point, as he's just experienced the worst moment of his career (or on par with losing the 2008 Olympic semi-final to Rafa).

Ferrer has now withdrawn. Maybe doesn't want to face Nadal in the quarters. Expect the phrase "Spanish lap dog" to be used a lot ;)
