Well done to Sharma !

I didn't really have a strong preference regarding who won this final, and would have been happy with either outcome. From Sharma's perspective after losing a lot of ranking points at Bogota last week and the controversial circumstances that she was a victim of, it was great to see her well and truly putting that behind her and more than making up for it (to put it mildly).

On a side note, and as someone likes pretty useless / random stats / trivia, the 'cosmopolitan' nature of this particular tournament was pretty cool. The 4 semi-finalists came from countries in 4 different continents, and players from countries in the 2 remaining inhabited continents (from the perspective of those of us taught that there are 6 - obviously that varies in different countries around the world) reached the quarter-finals.

What an absolute embarrassment Jabeur is to the other players on tour who put their heart and soul into the game. Lazy, effortless, human.

I like both of these players, was kinda hoping Ons would get a title though. She was suffering a bit health wise during the Kovinic match. Still a delight to watch her play, I think clay favors her style of game. Congrats to Astra though, amazing play by the Australian!
