Plus I'm going through a divorce so it just feels like the wrong time to do that. Maybe in a few months.

Diego's GF...well, a lot is down to personal taste. But, she has basically no chest. Beyond that, she doesn't have the features/'look' I like but again, that is personal taste.

I always get a chuckle whenever a successful young athlete hooks up with a model type and everyone immediately acts as if he hit the lotto. We cannot use our lives to do an analogy.
The streets of Hollywood are littered with beautiful girls working menial jobs to get a break. There is no dearth of beautiful people trying to jump to the next level. If some young, rich, successful fit athlete shows an interest that is a great situation for them. The athlete has the choice of who to pick more so than the girl. Plus in this case, he is a bit shorter than average, but nothing wrong with his looks. So you cannot even say she is just in it for the money.

The model/actress/beauty-pageant contestant I dated was headed for big things as a young-20something, even got herself a small part in a major movie as a one-night-stand for one of Hollywood's A-list actors. But she hit some roadblocks, dated an abusive guy, got a DUI, and now she's probably not going to be a professional hottie.
She does OK now, works for a big company making around $55K, not bad for a 28-year-old. But she's an exact illustration of your point.

Oh I agree. I did not mean to say if he was average looking we should be skeptical of her motives. None of us know actual motives. You are talking about a highly fit, successful, ambitious and rich man A lot of women are drawn to that. Or maybe she did not care for any of that and genuinely fell for his charm. Who knows?
My point still stands that it is the girl who hits the jackpot in most of these scenarios more than the guy. However we see threads all the time across all the sports claiming how the famous athlete lucked out getting the model.

On the surface of it, it seems like a pairing that makes a lot of sense.
If she is involved in fashion design or modelling she probably has a lot in common with Diego - they both understand doing a lot of travelling, spending time in the gym, and also spending time apart and other professional commitments etc etc.

The interesting thing about these models is that many of them are suicidal, depressed and suffer from anxiety or have a severe drug addiction. Even the great Gisele Bundchen wanted to kill herself. The modeling world is fiercely competitive and it's left many models broken, alone or dead.
It's not always the athlete who is lucky to get the model.
